So i am driving home yesterday minding my own business and all of a sudden a chevy silverado pulls up and starts revving. Well i am not going to take this lightly. I begin to rev back and it seems like the race is on.
Before i even really get going the (maybe at 3-4 pounds of boost) i hear a large **POP**. So i think to myself what in the HECK was that. I pull over to find out that one of my heater hoses has blown off AGAIN.
Now i say again because this is not the first time that something like this has happened to my car. As a matter of fact this is the third time that this has happend. The first two were the tube running from the lower intake manifold to the back firewall. This time it was the huge upper radiator hose. Within seconds all of the coolant that i had in my car was apparently community property.
Luckily i was about less than a block from home. I had some plyers and re attached the hose. Got home and added some more coolant to the system drank up a good 4 bottles to get it back to where it needed to be. This is just getting old and i mean i guess taht there is nothing i can really do cause i have the hose attached the correct way. SO i guess i have a few questions.
1. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
2. Did this have anything to do with the fact that it was almost 95degrees that day?
3. Whats the best way to clean an engine bay?
4. Anyone know of a good place to get coolant?
5. MOST IMPORTANT. Is there a better way to attach these hoses or was this the way it is supposed to be and my car went crazy?
Thanks for listening to the rant
