05 "harley edition" excursion sells at barret jackson???

    check this out:

    http://www.barrett-jackson.com/aucti....asp?id=182353

i hope my link works, if not go to barret jacksons web site and look for lot number 61 sold at scottsdale AZ in 06'.

i saw it on TV yesterday, 05 excursion, black fully loaded, someone put harley badges, harley wheels, harley steps, the orange pinstripe and the halrey sticker on the quarter panel and it sold for $85,000 !!!!!

it didn't even have black interior or harley seats or any of the other harley stuff on it, the anouncer guy was saying they only made harley edition trucks and this one was obviously a fake!

it did have the 6.0 with torque shift but i think it was a 4x2.

i just thought it was crazy that it got $85k, it wasn't even new it had over 5k mi on it.

it makes me wonder what my black and orange would go for on the block!!!

curious HOW this was advertised? Was it made clear that SUV was born as a "plain-jane" Excursion and was later dressed up by the owner as an HD?? Or was buyer that uneducated??

This was listed at the bottom of their page.

The agreement was that they would put together a custom Harley Davidson Excursion which is the (Excursion LIMITED base model), Except Harley was unwilling to agree and to allow the Black leather seats and interior to be installed. Everything else is as a Harley Davidson. They gave it a Harley Davidson Console serialized cover stating a 1of1 Custom built with the VIN number stated. Ford has installed everything in this truck or had it installed by their people, except the GEARVENDER, over/under drive which gives you 8 forward speeds and is built in. Also I had the FIRESTONE, air filling station with 3 gallon tank, with an air chuck installed on the aft passenger running board so if you get a flat or need to air something up you have 165 PSI available. Also had installed and built-in, the FIRESTONE ride-rite air suspension system with built in controls. Ford installed and built-in the Trailer brake controller. Ford also had installed the Clarion OHM-153 15.3" wide screen flip down LCD Monitor PIP and split screen. The DVD player is built-in hidden in a compartment behind the driver's side aft passenger's door. Audiovox, Sirius satellite radio, with built-in antenna to go with the 6 disk am/fm stereo. Ford installed the Remote start with Vehicle alarm system and bluetooth hands free phone system. All Harley Davidson emblems 24 KT Gold plated. Radar/lazer detector built in. Transferable warranty 84 month & 100,000.

    cayman,
Appreciate the info. If buyer feels all that is worth the $85K price tag, then Happy New Year to him. Sadly, the first reaction that HD truck owners will give it when they see it is: POSER At least, he will have the auction in his favor to validate his claim/belief that he has a legit HD!

I agree...I'm not saying it is a Harley, just surprised that it would sell for that price with just those comments listed. I guess the buyer needed to write off some tax money to stay in his bracket!
