    Road Pricing Yet Again

Ok, this didn't get much of a response on here last time but I'll have one more try.
This kind of thing will affect US directly and affect friends of ours in the UK forum who have businesses in the motor industry (Kev and Ben-Hur)

    Road Pricing Latest

The petition against road pricing on the No. 10 website now has over 600,000 signatures. To all of you from the NHTOC who signed and wrote to your M.P. Well done.

Unfortunately, the Minister for Transport, Stephen Laydyman has described the petiton as "nonsense". Isn't it nice to know what our elected officials really think of us?

Yesterday, Tony B liar said that the govt WOULD go ahead with road pricing.

Remember, 42 BILLION pounds is already raised from motorists and less than a quarter goes back into transport.
Gordon Brown said that additional money raised from road pricing would not be "ring fenced" for transport as it would create a dangerous precedent.

This is just an excuse to raise taxes yet again to spend on the EU, illegal immigrants, 2008 Olympics and all the other good causes we get taxed for.

I'm sure you are all aware of the extra "green" tax that has been put on all flights from Feb 1st. Gordon Brown claimed this as an environ****** tax.
Again, yesterday, Senior Treasury Minister, Steven Healey let the cat out of the bag.......

One of Gordon Brown's closest allies last night admitted that the Chancellor's controversial air passenger tax was a 'blunt instrument' which will do little to help the environment.
Senior Treasury minister John Healey was also forced to admit that one of the main purposes of the tax - which has been dubbed the 'poll tax of the skies' - is to raise revenue.
Mr Healey's surprise admission will fuel anger over the Chancellor's decision to double the duty last year - thereby raking in over £1billion-a-year for the Treasury.
Critics have branded the move a 'stealth tax in green camouflage' and have demanded that Mr Brown reverse the decision.
Environ****** campaigners have joined with airlines to warn that the measure had more to do with raising cash for the Treasury's coffers than saving the environment.
Financial Secretary Mr Healey told MPs on the Treasury select committee: "It is a blunt instrument as far as the environment goes. It is not, either the best policy instrument to deal with the environ****** impact of aviation."
He added: "It's not even the best tax instrument to deal with the effects of aviation."
Mr Healey went on to acknowledged that the part of the purpose of the tax - which has added around 7 per cent to the cost of an average short haul flight - was to raise money.
He said: "The policy purpose when it was introduced in 1994 was clearly in part to raise revenue - that remains part of the case."

In other environ****** news, the EU has decided that CO limits for new cars should be 130g/CO from 2012. A Ford Focus currently puts out more than that.
Estimates are that this will add 3,300 Pounds to the price of a new vehicle.

Did anyone here vote for anyone in the EU? How long must we allow unelected officials dictate to us what we can and can't do?
Our American cousins had the right idea when they said "No taxation without representation"

When these limits come into play, how long do you think it will be before owners of "polluting" vehicles (that's us btw) start to come under scrutiny for extra taxes or a ban?
As has been shown, the environ******ly friendly Toyota Prius has a larger carbon footprint than a Hummer when manufacturing and disposal is taken into account but that won't matter to the Green Nazi's and politicians who see us, the motorist as a cash cow.

It doesn't matter how many people sign a petition.
Keep writing to your MP and remember how to vote when an election comes along.

...and that went null with the introduction of the Federal Income Tax and the relinquishing of our treasury to a private institution. 100% of our (illegally) un-apportioned income tax is used to pay off interest on the money our goverment borrows from the private Federal Reserve... instead of printing the money themselves. And the best part? While our goverment insists that you pay the tax, there is NO ACTUAL LAW that states that you must pay the tax! If you don't, though, be prepared for a visit from the IRS hitmen...

Unjust and unapportioned taxation is quickly becoming the norm here in the US, and we're quickly reverting back to the pre-revolution days, ignoring all the basic principles our Founding Fathers set forth and that worked for almost 200 years...

...Sorry for the rant. That just happened to hit a sore spot I have...
