2001 Harley Davidson F150 SuperCrew w/ many mods SOLD
Yea.... VERY...the truck is clean...but I didn't want my stripes cleaned off!! LOLOriginally Posted by 01harleydude

time to pull the whole stripe?
time to slap a 02 flame stripe on!
thats why i dont go through those drive through car washes!!! makes me cringe just thinking about it!
Dont worry bro it loks better without, I took mine off 3 years ago and never looked back. Id be pissed if a car wash did it too but it does look better
i'm thinking of peeling mine off but i gotta put something back in its place. the fender emblems just look too far down on the fender to me with nothing above them
thinking about doing the 07 "Harley-Davidson" raised chrome lettering on the bed with a sonic blue stripe?? just until the funds roll in for sonic blue ghost flame stripe?
Just make sure there not embeded in the paint!!
Even a perfectly waxed truck can show a huge difference under those stripes!!
What is the contrast of yours David?? Could you finish the removal or have to replace??
NDEPT does have GREAT prices on new stripes though!!!!
My paint is nice..but after being on the truck for 160,000 miles and 7 years I'm am pretty sure it is going to leave a mark. I have a feeling it is going to leave a mark. I kinda like the factory stripes..I like the 100% stock look on the outside myself. I could probably wet sand where the stripes are though after removing them and then buff them to get it out the best..arrrggggh.Originally Posted by C Dillon Go

Obviously it was snowing out.....lol
looks like it blasted the vinyl off and left the glue
i'd try peeling it off and claybarring the paint then hitting it with like some ZPC. might leave a little ghosting of where the pinstripe was, but probably not too terribly bad
Wow David that just not funny at all Bro, sorry too see it happen, go to a local paint supplier and they will have a decal /strip remove chemical of some nature.
Thats why I use Hand Washes only. The touchless washes have to use high power water jets to clean. The smae thing happened on my 300zx in one of them. Blasted my pin stripping right off.
When my truck got keyed, I had to replace my picstripe too. Just remember, you need to replace the entire side, because your new pinstripe will be brighter than your old faded pinstripe next to it, it will look dumb and bother the heck out of you. IIRC the pinstripe for the whole side, from Ford, was 80 beans.
Also, do the work yourself. It is really easy to do.
