    Revision Update Mode

This section of the DS Downloader allows the user to update Predator. New updates are released when changes are done to the revision file (CROM) that gives the Predator its operating features. Keep an eye on http://www.diablosport.com/Downloads.php occasionally to see if new revisions have been released for your part number.

Follow these steps below to update your Predator:

tip 1) You need to make sure that the baud rates for your Com port 1 on your comp are the same as the ones for the DS Downloader software and your predator.

tip 2) ensure that the Send To Freedom and Compressed Send boxes are unchecked

    1. Download the appropriate revision update (CROM) to your PC in a file where you can find it later.
    2. Plug in the serial cable into PC and bottom of Predator. (do not plug power into Predator yet)
    3. Click on the Send CROM File to Predator in the DS Downloader.
    4. Make sure the baud rate is set at 115200 and the correct COM port is selected.
    5. Click the Update Software in Predator tab and select the CROM file you will be using.
    6. A pop-up message will ask you to power cycle your Predator. Plug in the 12V-1Amp power adapter into the Predator.
    7. Once the Predator is powered up, a pop-up message will ask if you want to update Predator. Click YES to start the update.
    8. Once the download is completed the Predator has been updated.

    1: Serial Cable:
Standard straight-through DB9 (9-pin to 9-pin) RS232C serial cable (6 foot cable is more than enough). Check your computer to see if you have a male or a female port on the back, as some are different. You will need a male end to go into your Predator.

(Radio Shack Part # 26-117, 6-ft DB9 male to DB9 female shielded cable.)

    2: Power Adapter:
    CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER
    OUTPUT : 12VDC 1000mA (1 Amp)

    (Radio Shack Part # 273-1776)
Note: Plug Tip is 2.5mm x 5.5mm, female, and center is positive.
