How to set/check TPS with Predator

Quick down and dirty on setting/checking TPS with the Predator...

    Predator 8r9/8r10 Revision

    1. Plug in the Predator.
    2. Select Diagnostics.
    3. Turn ignition on, but don't start engine.
    4. Select Real Time Data.
    5. Select Acceleration WOT.
    6. Select from list.
    7. Select fast rate.
    8. Scroll down to and select Throt Pos Before FME (selecting it puts a * to the left of it).
    9. Press ESC
    10. Press ESC
    11. At Select Log Data, replay later using playback, select NO.

This will send it into immediate Playback mode and you should
    now see your TPS reading.

If it is not at .99 then open hood and put Predator out the window and place it by the hood hinge where you can see it.

    12. Loosen the screws (Phillips) holding the TPS on the left side of throttle body
    13. Turn clockwise to raise or counter-clockwise to lower it while watching the Predator display.
    14. When you get your numbers right then tighten the screwsit back down making sure to hold the position as it may wander off from the .99 you are looking to achieve.
    15. After tightening the screws down snug you can unplug the Predator or do ESC ESC all the way back out unplug it and then turn off the key.

Correct, it tells the computer what position the Throttle is in.

what would be the symptoms of the wrong tps setting? being slow in the 1/4 mile? lol...after changing to the SBTB i could not get over 99 mph in the quarter with a 13.3....before that mod and changing from a 4 to 8.. i was running 13.3s at 102-104....what gives? guess i need to check this stat!!

the TPS shouldnt affect 1/4 mile time anything noticibly, it just makes the truck feel a bit more peppy with better throttle response with it dialed in right. WOT will still be WOT.

not sure why your mph dropped. so you ran 13.3 @ 102-104 with the 8 lb lower? and the only mod since then was a SBTB and your mph dropped?
only thing i can really think of is the weather. are you running in warmer temps now than when you ran the 102? the 8 lber heats the eaton up alot so higher temps will defiantely cause some hurting on the times without a good long cooldown.

also, depending how deep you stage, if you spin or not off the line, etc. can affect your mph more than you'd think. shoot, even if i just fold my mirrors back i pick up a solid MPH in the 1/4 believe it or not

ive adjusted at least 15 I think...only one was real close like that from the factory...

Most were either 1.04 or .94 and the adjustment to .99 made a difference.

Hell the wifes Expy was like .88 adjusting it to .99 really was noticeable...
