Greetings yet again fellow NHTOC-ers.
This month's truck of the month goes to John "TX Harley Guy" Cafferata's Two-tone 2003 HD.
John's a great asset to the club and forum and is a deserved recipient.
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your HD Truck?
Ive always been a GM guy and waited for the Silverado SS to come out, when it did it was a big let down. Id been looking at the Harley trucks since 02, the DSG ones really caught my eye, when I saw the 2 tone Anniversary model I was sold, plus the dealer I work for has a Lincoln store so I got employee price from Ford, that helped push me over too.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
I had a 94 GMC 1500 ext cab fleetside before this, 4/6 drop, all moldings and emblems shaved, added a power moonroof, bed cover, roll pan, smoothie painted front bumper, 17's, big for 94, and a buch of other stuff, truck still gets the looks, a buddy still owns it.
72 2wd Chevy Blazer full soft top, 3/5 drop. That was my party truck, hands down the most fun vehicle Ive ever owned.
91 GMC Syclone, turbo and AWD, truck was stupid fast right out of the box, really small though and I needed a real truck, didn't keep it long.
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list for favorites if you'd like!
I really haven't done as much as most here have but here go's,
Venom grille mod
Snuglid
Bedrug
Smoothed and painted tailgate handle
Blackwood window trim
Blackwood 3rd brake light, solid red, no bed lights
LED Tail lights, red
7000k HID Headlights system, hi & lo beams
Sirius radio
L spec Bilstein shocks
Lightning rear sway bar
Custom emblem overlays
22inch Harley reps & Toyo tires, 00-01 center caps
Optima battery
some billet stuff, antenna, etc.
2 inch rear drop
I'm sure theres more, just cant think of it.
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
I'm just a big kid, like to have a good time, if its nice out Ill be walking, hiking, swimming, at the lake or even doing yard work, I'm an outside kinda guy. I sell Honda Auto parts for a living, work at a great place thats like a big family, we don't make a lot of money but we have a good time.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
I like the atmosphere here, no tension, everyone gets along good. The members make this place, its the best.
with that, a Texas style brotherhood image. ;)
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
Nothing, its smooth the way it is.
Question # 7: This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
I just chose it, actually I was thinking of changing it soon.
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck?, so what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?!
An audio upgrade then HID fogs, exhaust is on the list too. I'm iffy on HP mods, the way the G/F holds on to that grab handle on the passenger side I'm surprised she hasn't ripped it off yet!
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn’t have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your website link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
Just that the people on here are great and I really cant believe my truck is TOTM, just like to say thanks!
Another shot John asked to be included. Pictured are S|ck, John's rig, and HOTSHOT. More of a tribute to S|ck's fallen truck.
With that, please give a big ole' congrats to the TX Harley Guy.
