Where have you been reading that? Just curious.

I have never heard anything saying kicker is superior to JL in anything.

Kicker is not bad by anymeans, but it is not JL quality. If you can find a shop that has both on a sound board in an audio room then definitely listen to the same subs or speakers on both amps (I know the chances of that happening are slim). What is the price difference on those? Both are good amps, it's not like you are trying to decide between JL and Sony or anything...lol.

Yeah, thats what I usually do. Act like Im gonna buy something so I can hear it in person and then go somewhere else and pay a lot less for it.

I have used MTX, JL and Kicker. I would go with JL, then MTX, the Kicker. Just IMO. Listen to them. Different amps on the same speakers. You'll hear a differance. The JL will not be too much amp for your subs as long as the subs are in the correct box. More power is better than not enough power.

Ok I just looked up your subs. They are dual 4 ohms subs, so if you want to run a mono block amp you need to run the JL 1000/1 or you need to run a stereo amp and bridge it. The JL 1000/1 will run the same power output at 1.5 ohms to 4 ohms. Where most mono block amps need 2 ohm load to get the most out of the amp. With 2 dual 4 ohm subs you will need to wire them is series/parallel which will give you a 4 ohm mono load. So either you need a large stereo amp and bridge it to a 4 ohm mono load or get the JL 1000/1. If that makes no sense to ya give me a call tomorrow. I will try to explain better.

Oh yea the size of the box matches up to the subs fairly well, you should have some good sound.

    My Kicks came in black???

Well I just looked up some Kicker and MTX amps. Well since I have stoped selling car audio they now make the mono blocks sable down to 1 ohm which will work with your subs also. Depending on the wireing config. But when you run them at that ohm load you will be creating some serious heat. I think you will be really happy with the JL 1000/1.

No real pain to rerun wires just big $!!

I have used MTX amps since the mid/early 90's with never any issues. I prefer the older models but a few of my friends have later model mono amps that are VERY under-rated powerwise and work awesome.

I have also had good luck with Kenwood amps and Phoenix Gold...but again..these were all older ones.
