    New member in NASCAR country

    Hello everyone!

Your group was a large part in my research to purchase my new/used 2003 100th anniversary killer whale. I have quite a few questions and feel quite sure this is the place to find the no BS answers.

I will include a few photos took near my home in the Lake Norman area in NC.

    Questions

I'll do my best to be specific, as you see I will be starting with a clean slate. My first will be as follows:

    1) K&N filtercharger air intake

    2) Oil sep kit.

    3) Rhino Liner

    4) Retrax retractable bed cover.

    5) refinance house to pay gas card bill.....

    Short story

    Thanks all for the welcome!

I have to share a short story about my new hot rod. I purchased the truck from Carmax, after purchase I noticed the hood had been repainted, I understand no prob. Only issue was the hood baffle was not reinstalled after the repaint. I requested and quickly recieved a new one and had it installed on 5/8, drove home and was off to Charleston SC in he early am.

Left home early 5/9 dew on the grass sun just coming up.... getting on a clear interstate. A perfect time for a wide open throttle to highway speed or more. I release the throttle at about 75 mph and no go.... still accelerating. Not good I think....... beginning to sweat. Wondering if the key will lock the steering wheel if I shut it down. At about 105 I finally get the pedal to release. I stop open the hood and see a 3 inch gouge on the new hood baffle where the throttle was hooked in. CarMax got a call and reinstalled the baffle under the washer hoses as designed.

I will be doing my own work on this truck from here on out. I'd rather my hands get dirty from now on not my shorts!

    Yup

all the 01s that I have seen came with them as they were NA....and the 5 that I ahve done SC conversions on, we took it out to keep the TB linkage from hanging up on it.
