    HD4mula sub box HELP!

Hey guys, I'm in the process of building an HD4mula sub box per this diagram that I found in the How-to area:

My question involves the "rear bracket height: 1 5/8". The diagram says that the overall height should be 11.5", which mine is. Now when I put the plastic console cover over the box, it won't touch the floor because it seems the box is too high. The front feet that I have on the box are 3.5" tall. They are sitting on the stock floor bracket.

What I need to know, is weither the height of the box needs to be 11.5 or if the overall height (including the rear bracket) needs to be 1 5/8, or what the 1 5/8 needs to be at all I guess. Does anybody know what I'm missing here?

My box is 11.5 x 17 x 12 (I made it .5" narrower because I'm only running a 10" sub). What in the world is my problem!??!

my hdformula box doesnt reach the floor
ill snap a pic in a few minutes
i had the rear bracket at 1 5/8 and the front at 3.5 it sat high

i eventually put the sub on the inside of the box so i didnt have to worry about the excursion hitting the floor and made the rear bracket maybe 1/2 inch and the front like 2 inch.

The box itself doesn't reach, I'm sure that's right. But the plastic console itself doesn't reach the floor which is my problem here.

The box doesn't reach the floor, well atleast on mine it doesn't. After I put it in I noticed the console sat a little higher. It was definitely a great mod though.

That's exactly how mine sits. I'm not sure if I like it or if I'd like to cut the box down a little.

Thank you for the picture. Would you mind taking a picture of how you mounted it at the back? Did you put feet on it there or what?

When you build the box, the dimension of the height of the box (ignore height from floor of vehicle for the moment) is 11.5". The hole that you will drill into is approximately 1 5/8 from the bottom of the box. This will elevate the box over the floor. When I installed Mine I didnt go by this 1 5/8, I was going to use a level but than realized I am not only not on level ground, the truck is raked. So I just eyed it up with the seat making sure the subwoofer had space between it and the floor, the front brackets were the hardest part for me atleast.

Good luck the Console will sit hire, may look ****-eyed, and may shake uncontrollably (hopefully!) but none the less is a great mod, theres less finish work on the box since you r covering it up with the console and it looks stock. My favorite thing I have done to the truck so far.

As far as link, to get the best pictures go to this link

do these enclosures rattle? i'd like to build one from the simplicity of it, but I'm tempted to 'glass it in to maximize airspace and also just to make it nice and tight.

That's really nice, I was wondering if someone had modified this idea to hold 2 subs in it.

Also, thanks for the profile links henryrand. That's what I was trying to use from the thread that I found the plans in, but they were dead.

I'll get back out to work on it today and play around with it to see what I like. The sub that I'm going to use eventually only requires .5-1.0 of space. I have a ****ty 20 dollar sub from circuit city now so I can mock everything up without dropping the money on a nice sub.

I'm also going with a plexiglass top and I'll throw some blue neons that I have already in there just for some extra bling haha. Thanks for the help everyone.
