Need info Diablo chip
Hello All,
I am a newbie at this and would like to know if I am buying a Diablo chip programmer what should I be getting. Also, what would be a good price for a used 1.
I have heard that there is nothing to install just plug the unit in and reprogram the computer and you are off. If that is the case then how do you know what to program ?
Sorry for the Elementry ? but I thought there was a chip to install. Boy have times have changed

a chip will have to have a tune written and then installed onto it...then you plug the chip into your pcm.
Predator tuner, tune will have to be written and then installed into it and then the tune uploaded to PCM. The tuner will also allow you to datalog paramters, read and clear codes.

Just bought a Predator a couple of weeks ago. You can go to www.diablosport.com and get info there. If your truck is stock (or minimal mods Pulleys, exhaust) they have preloaded tunes you can use. If it is heavily modded you will need a tune written.... They have all instructions online. I got mine for 225 on ebay.

Is pretty straight forward to up load a program. Also, how do you keep the original program.

If its a hand held....during the process of uploading the new tune to the ecm, the device will make a copy of your stock tune.
Uploading a tune to the handheld is fairly simple, will need appropriate data cable to do so....
the installing the custom tune to the pcm is simple as well.
