I did mine on the truck, cleaned it with alcohol, cut to fit, and stuck it on.

Did mine sitting on my a$$. Cut each piece about 2" longer than the opening. Prepped with Isopropanol (& beer ) Removed number plate & refitted to lower valance. It is easy to flex inward the factory lower grill to allow you to start each run behind the opening. I cut mine enough to overlap by about 1" each end. Fitted moulding to every second fin on the factory lower grill. The spacing is a pretty good match to the main grill.
