how's it look guys?
Homebrewed in under 15 minutes for $10 at pretty much any auto parts store.
Actually $10 will do probably at least 4 trucks......
And yes it IS chrome, not paint.
Any guesses?

Door trim?
Yep,
Couple of lengths of chrome door edge trim. Great idea. I bought the REM lower grille and love it
How is the quality/fit finish? Tell us the secret!!

TELL US DAMMIT!
OK, I'll spill the beans...
it's actually 3/8" chrome wheel well molding
$10 for 20 feet, self adhesive with 3M tape.
Did every other slat in the stock lower and I'm happy and saved some buck$.
I originally did all the slats and it looked billet, but didn't match the upper so I peeled 2 off.
That's the cool part, if you don't like it, peel it off and you're out $10.
Door trim won't work very well, it comes in 2' lengths (too short) and it's too narrow anyway. That was my first idea.
I guess you could buy it by the roll, but the horizontal slats aren't deep enough without notching it for the uprights- that would be a big PITA
:k
That stuff will not hold up!
It will fade or peel or both.....
Not for me on a $38,000 truck. Ill stick with the real deal!
I think it will hold up just fine, but if it doesn't I can peel it right off in about 10 seconds.
relax bro! have a :drink:
I'd rather try my own options, when I get tired of screwing around with it, then I'll throw money at it
Tinkering around and exploring ideas is how I relax.
you don't have to remind me how much I paid for the truck
Following that train of thought, where do you draw the line on what's good enough for the truck?
Just because someone took $5 worth of tubing, welded it together and chromed it makes it worthy?
I would think the part that Ford spent thousands of dollars designing and manufacturing would be more worthy than $5 worth of tubing and chrome- no offense to JJ Ent, especially since I'll prolly end up with their piece eventually
Remember the "Real Deal" is just a little piece of black plastic!
For now, this is cheap, looks great and we'll see how it holds up.
It's all about the journey, not the destination.
When you get "done" with a car or truck, isn't that time to sell it and start over?
All I said is it will not hold up.
Not for me. Okay?
Do what you want it's your truck.
What's all this Relax,Easy partner stuff?
I gave you an honest opinion and it's not for me..
Do it right the first time is for me.

Hey Venom, can you get a closer shot? I think it's a great idea. I'm all about saving a few bucks.

I always like to see a low budget tip too, thanks!
Ya know, I was in the plumbing supply store last week and for about $25 worth of 3/8 stainless tubeing ....... ;w
That looks EXACTLY like mine and I have the JJ grill. In fact, im my opinion I like yours better because it doesnt stick out like mine does. Nice idea!
I like it!
Great idea:bi:
I did mine on Saturday and love the results. There are a few members over at FTW that have done this, which is how I go the idea.
