    03HD Stereo System Upgrade

    I Have Begun a complete stereo System Upgrade will post pics of install
    Did you guys remove the plastic moisture barrier film to sound deaden the door ?

    yes yes yes!!! i have seen installs with the sound deadener over the plastic...it does NOTHING unless its on metal...make sure to put on the outside skin of the door too...ie reach in the door with the window up and stick it to that too!

    yes!!!!

    my floor has 2 layers....
    rear panel has 1.. removed the vents and SMACK over it... covered up...


    It is somewhat quiter... but my damn exhaust is kinda loud... i will do another layer over the doors and rear panel... maybe the roof.. didnt think bout it...

    I still get a rattle under the truck i need to look under it...

    i dont see anything under there... so i have no clue... its not in the truck... i took the rear seats out again and all... no rattle inside..

    maybe its one of the heat shields... I don't know...

    there are a couple heat sheilds mounted to the underside of the cab

    its not a big rattle.. kinda small.. but its still a rattle...

    do you have hi-flow cats? my dynatech hi-flows are multidirectional so it doesn't matter which way you install them...anyways, because of this there are 2 bungs in each cat for the O2 sensors to plug into and the bung you don't use has a bolt in it. One of the bolts came loose and created a bad rattle. I initially thought it was a heat shield but turned out to be that. Tightened the biotch up and put a small tack weld on it to keep it there and no more rattle. Just another option to check in addition to the heat shields...

    Its right above the gas tank its one of the rubber plugs...

    removed it and no more...

    no cats for me..
