that's pretty friggen fast.... i noticed a few things though...

    1) why such a huge burnout on street tires?
    2) shifts are kind of slow, i wonder how much faster it'd run with quicker shifting
    3) was that Don "D.C." Curry from "Next Friday" filming?

    1. The hotter the tires the stickier they get.

    2. He'd gain a half second easy.

    3. No idea...

GOOD burnouts absolutely do help. If you just smoke em for a second it ain't helping. My burnouts last at least 10 secs. They are so hot you can't touch them. The rubber is sticky. I also go over the lauch area so it too is hot and covered in hot sticky rubber. I get 1.93-1.95 60' on street tires with a GOOD burnout. 2.2-2.3 without.

Street tires are designed NOT to heat up - With that kind of burnout you are just wasting rubber - the only advantage you might get is you are liquifying the rubber already on the track and getting it to stick to your tires.

Look at whats left when someone does a MONSTER burnout with street rubber and with slicks - street rubber leaves a pile of dried powder rubber like sand - slicks leave a pile of sticky mess thats like tar and play dough ..

That depends on the street tire. I buy tires for traction. 300 or less rating if i can. You want to see what burnt rubber looks like look in my wheelwells...i'm on my 3rd set of rears with 30K miles on the clock. Bridgestone Fuzions are designed to get sticky after heated... so are the HP's. I've used both and gotten 1.97 with the Fuzions and 1.93 with the HP's.

I have gotten low 1.8 60 foots with 300 rated street tires in a lighter truck..

Keep in mind I dont consider ET Streets

    or Drag Radials

street tires - street tire to me is something you can safely operate in the rain

    This is a street tire
