I caught that sig change in a couple of your posts krommie. I'm suprised no one noticed and asked about it.
I am amazed someone has finally came forward and offered to help, I was beginning to think no one kept records after the production was over and done with. Thanks and I am here if anyone needs anything I can provide as well.
Can your friend offer any help on when the good heads was installed on the 03's? I posted my Vin a few post back on this thread and I appreicate all help.
Thanks
Ray
Ray,
email sent, usually takes a day, sometimes 2. I'm curious also.
The last question I asked him was for total build numbers for all years. I'm still waiting for that answer.
I also asked him how may all blacks and 2 tones there were in 2003. He replied: "It was about 50/50. The tutone was extremely difficult and expensive for us to produce."

Pro-Hawk,
I asked about the heads today and He didn't have an answer. He forwarded the question to an associate who had this reply:
"Roush (John Fleming & Brian McAllister) and I do not recall an '03Mid Year running change to the head configuration, and as you may recall, the engine code/calibration was c/o '02.
You probably recall, the Harley-D truck DID do a color change to the painted engine parts, but Lightning stayed the same."
Where did you get info on a head change in 03. By the looks of this response, It doesn't appear there was such a change. I hope this helps.
On another note, Josh will probably like this info, I asked for my own curiosity why it was expensive and dificult to make the tutone 03's. My contact, Let's call him Mike, replied this:
"High line, high contrast tutones require significant manual intervention primarily in masking. Even though the customer order rate was approx. 80% for the Shamu truck, we could only produce a little over 50%."
Cracks me up how they nicknamed it the Shamu truck
thanks FnRage!
