haha, yeah it would seem easy, but you have to lock up the torque converter so the crank doesnt spin while you unscrew the bolts. It took GG and myself an hour to change mine because we didnt have very good tools to lock it up. Either find someone with the lockup tool, or just take off the front cover of the converter and go through your tools to find a wrench that will jam itself in between a converter bolt and something else so it wont spin. Thats what we did. Then just use some elbow grease and get the bolts out of the hub to change it.

Yep, that's what I did. IIRC, I used a 6 pt deep socket on one of the converter bolts, slowly turned it until it wedged and then fought with the crank bolt until it broke loose smashing the backside of my hand.

if you want the lockup tool, you can buy it from LFP for a few bucks. its just a piece of metal with a few bends and holes, but it can come in handy. I forget where mine even is

FTVB, I ordered one last week, hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow.

Here's some decent install instructions I found for an Excursion which should be the same.

on the s/c trucks oil clogs up the intercoolers without an oil separator. when getting out of boost the oil vapor gets sucked out of the PCV on the passenger side valve cover and into the plenum, and down coating the IC. doesnt take long for it to get gunked up.

there's lots of cheapie separators out there, but most dont work because they are actually water separators. vince's L&S setup is maintence free and works incredibly well
