Got my truck back and already in trouble

So today i dropped off my truck to have the long tube headers/ high flow mids put on. and after 3 1/2 hours it was done. Cost me $135 for the install. Only prob is thats all thats on the truck right now.
Well I must say this was the first time I ever got a police escort home.Ishould have listened to the officer when he said its 11pm, and your truck is way to loud for any time of day take it home now or I will take it. So I started to go hopme and I figured what the hell im having fun.. Well he cought me again and asked me all kinds of questions about wheres the rest of my exhuast at, so i told him some one stoll it.. So to make a long story short he made me follow him home. His final words were please park this "dragster" and dont brong it out unless its on a trailer. I guess im gona have to put the rest of the exhuast on in the next couple of days.
Next on the mod list after I finish the exhuast is. Get new plugs, fill the silencer holes in the s/c, get a chrome 3rd brake light, ftvb, and a mad e-fan. I guess around christmas time ill get my lightning longbars/sway bars, and finish lowering my truck. Theres more on the list but I just dont know how about going as to getting it.
Now we need to start planning the next gtg. Hope all is well with the lady rich.

well no baby yet. deffinately order up the coil pack screws from mad! i messed around today and pulled the plugs outta my truck again! they make pulling plugs so much easier and fun!!! you also need to get fluid for the s/c. your gonna need 2 bottles. you can fill the sil. holes without pulling the rotor pack but might as well change the fluid and inspect everything. also this would be a good time to pull your i/c and clean it! also get a L&S sep. well worth every penny. totally maint. free, and just look at the pics from the mod a day. you can see how clean my i/c is well after 20k. oh yeah get that bolt for the rear leaf!!!!

dude, seriously now, why in all hell would you tell the cop that somebody STOLE your exhaust? lol. Not like you took off the catback purposely, and not like you've been driving around like that for weeks, you just left the exhaust shop, why wouldnt you tell them that? haha Out of anything, that story should fly the most! Chit you pry had the old exhaust or at least the old catback in the bed didn't you?

anyway, go to advance auto or pepboys, napa, etc. and pickup 4' worth (two 2' piece) of 2.5" straight pipe, four 2.5" couplers, and eight 2.5" exhaust clamps. rehang your catback then measure the length you need to mate the midpipes to the catback and cut the pipe down and throw it in with the couplers. should need somewhere between 18"-22". Not the best method, but it should hold you over til you order a set of cutouts to throw in, then you can get it back to the exhaust shop and have them flare a single piece of pipe and weld it up or whatever your plans are.

the next "HOLY CHIT".....$135 for install!??!?! are you FRIGGIN kiddin me dude? That is the best bargain I've ever heard haha. Took 4 guys nearly 6 hours to get them on my truck lol, that mechanic has gotta be good haha

anyway, get the mods together and we can meet up again and knock out all the mods. Can be a "mod bmxer's ride" party haha. as rich said, definately get the MAD coil pack screws. worth EVERY CENT!!!! I kid you not man! lol
Also, dont just get a chrome 3rd brake light cover, go for a lightning LED 3rd brakelight. Hoffie has a spare one he's trying to sell, drop him a PM.

Lastly, NOW do you believe me when I said the truck would be LOUD!!!? lol I drove around like that for 40 miles til I got my cutouts and catback on lol. Never got pulled over, but was sweating it every one of those 40 miles! lol, especially the 1st time I started the truck up and drove it for the 1st time on the new motor at 2:30 in the morning

the only reason why I told the cop someone stole it was becuase ive had problems with him before. It was like he would wait for me to bring out my mustang which wasnt as noisy but still really loud. The oil sep is on the list just forgot to add it on that list along with the coil pack screws. I guess ill look into the L 3rd brake light and see how it looks. So far everyone ive seen has it, I want somthing alittle diff besides beeing the only dsg at the meets. Oh yhea I gotta get the fluid also. I guess ill have a nice big collection of parts sitten here so hopfully I can get it all soon that way we wont have to sit in the freezing cold.
When I went to pick up the truck I asked him what do I owe ya? He was like I havent decided yet. Ok so I went and put my old exhuast in the bed of my truck and came back. YES JOSH WHEN THE COP PULLED ME OVER THE SHINNY CHROME TIPS WERE STICKING OUT FROM UNDER THE COVER.. Thats when the mechanic said the instal was a ***** but it was a blast getting to work on a harley truck, the usuall rate by the book is $500 for manifolds and an extra $100 for headers so it would usually be like $600. Just give me $135 and if you have any problems please bring it back. That made me happy

in other words " hey i beat the crap outta your truck so just give me $135!!" if we are doing the sil. holes you need:
    1. jb weld
    2. s/c fluid
    3. plugs
    4. coil pack screws
    5. oil sep.
    6. afew cans of brake clean

that should cover it! the jb weld and brake cleaner are easy. just need to order teh rest. give me a call when you get it and we can figure out a day.

Is there a typo on mad's website for the plugs? Do they really only want like $1.75 or somthing like that. When i went to get them from south jersey auto supply they wanted $8.50each but they were out. Ill get on ordering some stuff asap. The only bill I have comming up is my car insurance for $275 on the 29th so as long as I get this bathroom done ill be ready to make some orders by the end of the week. Sundays are always the best days for me. If not than early satardays. Of course becuase of my current schedual im not doing anything mon-fri. Oh and they make like 12 diff types of jb quick weld is there any certain type or just close my eyes and pick one?

Cop...okay loud mustang is one thing lol, driving around on it all the time....loud HD fresh from the exhaust shop with the old catback in the bed...he may have given you a bit more slack if you were like "hey i just had the headers put on, you can check the bed the catback is in there I gotta go home to put it on tomorrow" lol

L 3rd...i get wanting to be different, but for some mods, when EVERYBODY has it, its more one of those...thats how it should have come stock sorta mods lol. The covers look like a stick on aftermarket piece. The L 3'rd looks like it belongs since it flows right with the window surround and the LED's are friggin sweet!

Exhaust...did you check the mileage before/after? lol bet he went for a nice spin! Discounted labor for free ride to beat on for the day lol

mods...lemme know what day and I can probably swing by and give ya's a hand. if you're doing it at tpr's my gf lives right by there so I'll pry be up in the area anyway.

efan...if the only difference is reusing your shroud to mount the fan, or buying a whole new shroud with the fan already mounted, i'd just mount it in yours. quick 100 bucks saved for other mods!

plugs...NGK's are dirt cheap man! lol I'm assuming you're getting TR-6's? Denso's are pricey, but most run NGK's (myself included). great plug and quite cheap. the coil pack screws are pricey but worth every penny!

jbweld...advance auto/etc. should have regular jb weld and jb qwik. regular is red and black tubes i think, and quik is blue and orangeish. Should setup in like 5 mins. thats what I've got on mine and worked out fine.

Josh did you figure out whats up with your truck? I guess ill get the L 3rd brake light and not worry about the chrome, especially if its just stick on and it stands out that way. As for the mechanic I know he didnt take it to far. When I dropped it off I left it with him with absolutly no gas and I wrote down the milage. He went 2.3 miles. haha he said it was to loud and a cop gave him crap. As for the cop who pulled me over me and his dad (also a cop) got into a fight back 6 yrs ago and I got probation for what happened so hes got alot of beef with me. Thats why when ever I get a chance I mess with em.
You were correct thats what im gonna use is the tr-6's. Thats crazy that sjas wants $8.60each. Just called again to confirm it.
So far I picked up the quick weld and the brake cleaner. Later this week ill order the plugs and bolts. Then I guess ill go for the ftvb. Oh yhea where should I get the s/c fluid from I keep hearing to get it from gm?

i would go with the dyi efan. i went with the whole thing since i did the s/c swap and my shroud was bigger. as stated the coil screws are one of the best none performance mod you can do!! when i popped a plug last year i had jdm do the inserts on my heads since i didn't have time. the loved those things!!!

2.7 miles on the odometer and the truck didnt move out of the guys driveway! hahaha

anyway, my alternator died from the voltage regulator crapping out. $110 bucks later from manuta rebuilders and its all good to go again with a new voltage regulator and new bearings. not too bad considering the price of a new 300 amp alternator! lol was going to put it on today but too misrable out. I'll swing home after work tomorrow to throw it on.

s/c oil, the GM stuff is way cheaper than ford and works just as well. GM dealers should carry it, or NDebt may even sell it. Mad might also, doesnt hurt to check with him. the ford stuff is TWENTY TWO DOLLARS PER BOTTLE! lol and you need TWO! blower takes 6 oz., bottles are 4 oz.

for the CEL, not sure why it went off. Did he hook the EGR back up? I had it capped off on those headers when I gave them to you. that would throw a code if he didnt hook it up. you can check the codes by putting the key in the ignition, turning it 1 click backwards, hold the trip meter button in, then while still holding it turn it all the way forward just before starting the truck, keep holding it til you see the odometer say "GAGE" then let go. the gauges will do a full sweep. keep hitting the button til you see dTC..... followed by a few #'s/letters. write them all down and we can find what the code thrown was.
