    Ok Josh... Alpine terminologies 101.

Alpine for Dummies in session right now ;p

CDA - It's a CD player that uses the Ai-Net Bus to talk to a changer
CDM - It's a CD player that uses the M-bus to talk to the changer

Any Alpine HU that starts with a CDA - #### will work with the Ai-Net changer.

hmm....after looking on alpine's site for like the millionth time, here's the couple that i like the looks of...

    CDA-9811

my favorite looking one is the CDA-7892

Will these work with the 6 disc CD/MP3 changer? and do they have all the features i would need to run all my system, and the thing that i would need if i ever want to amplify the front speakers or whatever that was???
    Thanks!!!!!!

    yes and yes...

Ok... Alpine CD changer terminologies 101.

    CHA - Ai-Net Changer
    CHM - M-Bus Changer

An Ai-Net changer is the bus that the HU and changer talk to each other.

The only MP3 changer that Alpine carries is the CHA-S634.
All the rest are just regular CD changers.

Where's your spec for your amps?
If you only have a combined RMS of less than 800, don't bother.

just when i think i have everything figured out, i'm back to the start again long story here, but i'm back on the TV HU now ;t

If i get the Alpine CVA-1004 tv that R126 posted on the 2nd page of this thread, will the CHA-S634 6 disc changer still work for the audio stuff? Or do i need to get a combination CD/MP3/DVD changer? Or can i still get the CHA-S634 changer, and then get a cheap DVD changer off ebay or something.

If that sounded confusing...here's basically my question.
If i get the CVA-1004 TV Headunit do i....
-have to get a single CD/MP3/DVD changer?
    OR
-can i still get the CHA-S634 changer, and get a cheap DVD changer off ebay or something and mount it under the seat or something?

Or if i'm just totally off, somebody please fill me in
    Thanks sooo much!!!!

Like they always say do it right the first time.Spend your money on what you really want, don't settle for less cause in the long run it will cost you alot more. Now to answer your question.Yes that's your best bet.CHA-S634 6 disc changer will work and get a dvd player of Ebay and your all set.Josh try and find a dvd player that also play MP3.Like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=32855

    Thanks for the info guys!

So here's what i need to get then....

    Alpine CVA-1004 TV HU
    CHA-S634 6 disc CD/MP3 changer
and a DVD player like the one you posted in the ebay link.

thats all right? I don't need any extra cables to run the DVD and TV and all that?

And just curious, whats the advantage of finding a DVD player that will play MP3's if my changer will play MP3's. I could play music from the DVD player also then? sorry for all the dumb questions

I think i'll email that guy from the ebay link. The auction ended with no bids, u think that its a good DVD changer to get? if so then i'll email and ask.
    Thanks again
