    Will '05 F150 6-cd HU fit my '02?

I bought a vandalized/stolen HD. Radio was destroyed and other stuff was stolen. Will the 6-cd in-dash HU from an 05 F150 fit and be compatible with the 02 wiring?

Thanks for the responses. I checked the FAQ's but none were on point.

i'm not sure if the 05 will retro back since the dash style changed, but the 03 six disc in dash should be able to fit. i think bgstew did that swap on his truck.

I believe it will fit in the dash, but I think the wiring plugs have been changed.

yeah 03 in dash fits with a little triming to the Dash bucket up top. THe 05 might fit but as stated I am pretty sure the wiring connections in the dash would not mate up to the HU

if it does fit physically, but if the harnesses are different, you may be able to just get an aftermarket HU adaptor harness for a HU to plug into your factory harness, then splice the other ends into the 05 HU. would have to cut the harness wires on the 05 HU side, but would keep your factory harness untouched incase it doesnt work out or if you go aftermarket later

Scosche makes an "RB" harness. The end that plugs into the factory deck(i.e. to put a factory deck in a street rod).To put the '00 factory CD in my '97 I had to get the regular harness(FD02B plugs into the trucks wiring)and the "RB"(plugs into the deck).

Look through this and see if anything looks like your plug.

If the deck has the removal holes on the sides,Id say it will work. But I was thinking newer stuff bolts in.

Found mine,,,the end closest to the cam,is the "RB" plug.I took the pins out of the two plugs(farthest from the cam)opened them("uncrimped",if you will),and recrimped/soldered the RB wires in.PITA,,but it turned out nice.

    Thanks for the replies!

If it isn't "plug and play" I'm going to go with an aftermarket HU. I just figured the newer unit would have some upgrades over the 02 unit and if it fit I'd use it.

Now to figure out which double-din, bluetooth unit to use.

    Thanks.

    guys,

The 05 HU Is Physically Taller On The Face. It Won't Fit Without Some Cutting. When I Had my '05 SD And I Wanted XM I Had To Step Back To An '03 HU To Make It Look Ok In the '05 I Had To Put A 3/8" Filler In The hole.....

so i'm guessing ford stepped up to a true double din size in the new trucks, instead of the odd din & a half in the older ones?
