that is a good idea. I need to reseal mine, so I'll probably follow suit and do the same so I can really make sure they're sealed well, then just paint the edge black.

if I redo I might widen the edge some, but it definately covers the goop line
So do you guys know someone that sells the DSG paint in a spray can so that I can paint mine to match my truck?
paintscratch.com can pretty much mix you up nearly any color you want and put it in a spray can
I'll see what I can find out tomorrow. I would love to get these painted!

Well I went by autozone today and they actually had 1 can left of "Ford Dark Shadow Grey" left on the shelf. So I picked it up along with a can of primer and a can of clear. It was a pretty sweet deal at 6.49 a can......maybe I'll paint a few other things now that I know where to get it!!
I'll tell him to check his PM's next time he posts on DelValLO.
As for the DSG, IIRC Ford had 6 variations of the color, so depending on when the truck was painted it could have gotten one of a few variations lol. But for the taillights, since its under the clear plastic it'll match a lot easier than a piece on a bare panel next to the factory DSG. My tails are actually a metallic blue flake to the black. Deebee did it just to bust my balls But once I put the clear lense back on, you haven't been able to see the blue flake ever since I put the lenses back on lol
Well I'll look forward to hearing back from him, although I couldn't wait and I went ahead and resealed the lights. I'm going to mount them today but my one last remaining question is how much to I have to trim the stock mounting screws. The guy that I bought these tails from used the regular f-150 screws and punctured the inner lense. I was able to fill the hole but I wanted to know how much to trim the screws so that I don't break the painted surface.
before you install them just hold a screw up to them and see how much body you have on the tail for the screw to thread into. IIRC the stock bolts are pretty long, and you'll probably end up cutting them close to in half. It'll only end up being 1/2"-5/8" long by the time your done IIRC.
