Pics, we need Pics. I currently have 1993 Mustang smoked foglight covers on mine. I had to use a dremel to get them to fit correctly. Looks good but the plastic can't withstand the heat generated from the fogs.

    Hey Rob,
I went out and bought the lenses at the Home Depot, but they said they didn't have any clear Lexol Sealer.
Did you seal the lens around the edge with anything?
    Thanks,
    Joe

Joe, you can get the Lexol at some auto parts stores or body shop supply houses. Im going to try the silicone myself.

okay i'll stop being lazy and post a pic that i was talkign about before

here's those malibu fog covers on a fog of the HD
    http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...-1-album-22756

i only use them on my yearly trip to myrtle beach SC since its a 600 mile drive. just loosen the 3 foglight bolts, pull the fog back, slide the lense up between the fog and bumper, push teh fog forward and retigthen the bolts, and its good to go. works great. only reason i dont keep them in year round is cuz i dont do much highway driving and i like the looks of the fogs with the clear lenses without the malibu covers since they have that pattern to the plastic.

    Well,
I went ahead and used permatex windshield and running light clear sealer around the edge of the Malibu lenses.
Hope I don't regret that later, but they didn't seem to slide on tight enough to make me feel comfortable without some kind of sealant.
    We'll see.

yeah they dont pop on very tight when the foglight is out of the truck, but when you bolt it back onto the valance, since the foglight sticks through the valance a tad, it keeps the cover wedged in there. and it wont come out, because i've gotten lazy and tried to take the lense out without undoing the bolts and tried to just pull the valance out a little but there's not enough play to remove it without undoing the fog bolts a little

Let the foglights sit on the workbench overnight so the clear sealer would cure out properly.
Put them back in this afternoon and gotta admit, --- thats the best ten dollar mod I've ever done!

I just got my 01 HD and found out after i got home that the fog glass was shattered out on both. So i took this advice and tried it out. Worked beautifully. I ended up just pulling out all the glass left and used a razor and got the rest of that blue sealant crap out of there. The malibu lenses sat down in the channel perfectly with a very snug fit. (Probably enough to not even seal it with anything). But i got some plastic bonding cement and threw a good amount down into the grove. Let it sit overnight and put it on the next afternoon. Looks flawless and shows a ton of light with the Silver Stars i put in there.

    Got cheap fix. Thanks.

    dim the fogs?

i'd say no, nothing noticible at all if any. its a clear lense, but it does have a pattern on it (not perfectly flat...can see in a close up pic what i mean) so it may scatter the light a bit more, which may be a good thing and help spread it out, or may be a bad thing and put it where you dont want it.

i dont like the looks of the fogs with the covers on though, i like the clear glass where you can see the chrome reflector, so i've only put my malibu lense covers on twice so far in the past 2 years, on my trips down to SC in the summer, but couldnt really tell a difference at night with them on or off

    Sounds good to me.

I realy feel the same about it as you do about using them on road trips. The deal is, our fogs are way brighter to me than even our high beams. At night I use them instead of the high beams and why I was worried about the pattern on the Malibu's deming the lights.

Bought ML11P2. Only difference I can see is that they are 11watt & they cost less. Gonna try soon.
