looks pretty sweet! makes my old viper 791xv feel outdated

I like the minimal wires thing. definately simplifies an install with less wiring running everywhere!

I researched this technology at both Clifford and Viper,no luck of any mention on either sites. I seriously doubt its out...or even coming out any time soon.

The just got word from Directed Electronics that there's no hard ETA for this product.

They show off the remote online, and have a nice article on it, but the rep I spoke with couldn't get me a release date or pricing figures.

He did say that the modular wiring scheme is going forward and that the remote battery will last months rather than weeks...a definite improvement over the Responder remote, which kills the battery at the most inopportune time.

Can anyone comment as to how they think the Viper 5701 would compare to the Viper 5900 SST. Stop by local Best Buy yesterday, they want $499.00 installed for the V5900. Haven't checked any other local places yet. I plan to install an alarm, as well as add a good subwoofer or the stealthbox this April. Hopefully, I can get info on getting the best components for each.
