all previous/current owners of a stealthbox, got a question for ya

okay, wasn't quite sure where to put this, but i figured it'd get more views here. okay, i'm planning on getting a stealthbox put in my 03 in the next month or so. i know that it can be put in without having to cut the top off of the inner tray of the console. but i do like how it looks with it in there along with the stealthbox. so, i was wondering if you have previously owned or whatever situation you may have with a sub in the back, if you have the inner tray that you're no longer in need of. cause i'd love to buy it off you. it can be cut already from when you had it, or whatever. i just don't really want to cut mine. if not i can always go without it. but i just really like how it looks with the top of it in there. sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

Not sure I follow you exactly.
In any case if you have the 12" Stealthbox in the back console you dont need to do anything but take out everything thats under the center console cover and just leave the shell and lid. The big bucket and the innards that hold the bucket all come out just screwed into place. The Stealthbox has an indention on the top for the rubber mat at the bottom of the bucket that you just put the rubber mat in the top indention and close the lid. You can also just not put the rubber mat in at all since there really isnt any room to store anything but change or maybe a pen.

He doesnt have to cut anything if he has the 12" stealthbox.
The way I did mine was just unbolt the bucket and support from the shell.

Heres a pic of the inner support without the bucket since I sold the bucket to a member.
Once you take out the 4 screws that hold the bucket on the support there are 5 more bolts that hold the support down. 2 of the bolts are on the metal bracket on the back of the support and the other 3 are at the front of the support. There are also 2 screws one on each side of the shell towards the back that hold the shell to the support and also hold the metal bracket on.
Didn't have to cut anything at all just unscrew bolts and take out.
1st pic is the shell without the bucket.
2nd pic is where the 3 bots fasten the support to the floor pan.
3rd pic is the side bolt that hold the support to the shell.
4pic is the back of the support where the 2 bolts hold the support to the floor pan.

tazz, it's not the shell, it's the bucket i think you're referring to.

    here, http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/3010.pdf

the thing in step 16-17. i don't want to do that step to my own peice. so i was wondering if anybody has done it and took there stealthbox out and doesn't have any use for it anymore, or just has the whole thing any doesn't need/want it anymore. hope this clears up any confusion.

Probably does look better but who looks under the lid or even uses the console anyway once the stealthbox is in?
I'll show you what mine looks like.

Even if I had a spare I wouldnt do it and for 2 reasons. 1 if you ever sell the truck you can put it back to stock very easy. Unless it is a Show truck no one I know of will even open the console for anything. Ive never opened up the console except for the pics I just took since the Stealth box was installed and that been 4yrs now. The only reason i could see in adding those steps is if you had a custom box built and it had the magnet of the cone showing via a plexiglass window and or had neon lights around the window but if you went to the trouble of a custom box you would have proabably already taken that into consideration so that wouldnt need to be done.
Just saying IMO it's not a necessary unless your truck is a Show truck and if it is then by all means Yes but as a daily driver No.
