    DVD System

I'm currently checking out some aftermarket dvd systems. I've found a few companies that have Headrest Monitors. Still trying to find a decent DVD player that I can possibly store in the center console. Has anybody heard of or know of anything like this already for our trucks?

    Hey javamanguru,

I assume you're from the South Bay having hockey in your profile. If you're from San Jose, AMS Car Stereo off on Stevens Creek Blvd is a place to start.

To be really efficient, I would suggest in getting a DVD/CD changer that will replace your stock 6-disc changer inside the front console. Get the flip-out LCD screen with LINE IN and hook it up to the changer. Now you've got a DVD/CD changer player and the interface of the LCD screen.

Will this unit interface with the stock head unit? What do you suggest for "flip-out" or "flip-down" monitors?

Actually I live in Sacramento and I'm a Detroit Redwing Fan. I know I know.. its not a cali team but I've loved them for as long as I can remember. Thanks for the recommendation. I dont mind driving the distance as long as they do good work.

I see the dvd changer that you put up there. Do you have any suggestions for a new head unit?

Flip-downs will not work if you have a sunroof. Most 2002 HDs I think have them.. I think...;)

A flip-out is the motorized, 1-DIN unit on your dash. Alpine's are nice like the TME-M790. That's JUST the screen. You still need a HU/changer to send signal to it. It won't work with the stock unit since ours do NOT have any VIDEO outputs;t

The Eclipse brand is by far what I like most. It's sharper and more crisp than what I have seen where I work at. Look in their 'Integrated In-Dash Units', it's an entire package that works out of the box.

Hmmm... as all audio installers/salesmen would ask. Depends on your budget, how far you want to take it?

Here's a list of Alpine units.

You can also take a look at the Eclipse products.

    Good luck!

yeah my 03 has the moon roof. So flip down is not an option. LIke I said in my first post I already found the head rest units. Now I'm just looking for the player and the unit. I'm going to look into the eclipse. And of course there will be pics when I've got it all hooked up.
    Thanks again for the info.
