    stock radio replacement recommendations?

i'm considering replacing the stock radio with one that plays dvds, mp3s, cds and has a mp3 player connection. I prefer one that fits like the stock unit versus the single din that flip up. I currently have jl audio speaks/sub/amp.

let me know what you recommend or what brand/model i should stay away from.

Whats the budget? I have a JVC now since it was the best for the price..double din..looks good, sounds good, alot of nice stuff. I'd get a Pioneer D3 if I had the $$ since it looks kinda OEM and has NAV too.

Pioneer AVIC-D3 - DVD Receiver with Built-in Navigation • CD/MP3/WMA Playback • Aux A/V Input on Front and Rear • iPod Ready (CD-i200 required) • Bluetooth Ready (CD-BTB100 required) • 6.1" TFT-LCD Screen • Variable Button Illumination (match your ca

$679 there and can be had cheaper if you look around probably.

yeah +1 on the avic d3. i have one and i love it. like dsblk93gt said, it looks kinda OEM and it's VERY easy to use. plus you can make it have custom backgrounds to make it seem even more stock.

here's my post from when i got mine:

but it all depends on what you're willing to pay.

The new Panasonic Strada looks like it has a lot of features, including a hard drive. It is fairly cheap compared to other models. Worth consideration in my book

JD, these guys have a factory looking 6 disc in dash that does a lot of the stuff your looking for and is Sirius ready, I was reading about it on one of the Lightning forums, not fancy but you dont have to worry about it getting stolen.

    Thanks all for the recommendations.
As far as budget goes, I looking to spend around $500. And I like to keep it looking stock/less attractive. I'll do some web searching to see if I can find one of these close to my budget.

in our trucks its called a 1 and 3/4 din. but with a little bit of modding it will fit. And yes its a standard size that all CHANGABLE radios stick to. Some newer vehicles have radios that cannot be removed like the civic accords and mercedes etc.
