Thats a recipe for disaster if you don't know how to use it as it is a rotary polisher. You want to stick with a random orbital DA style polisher to keep from getting swirls and burning paint. The only one I see on there site is this one..

yep stay away from a rotary if you havent used one before lol

and rather than buy other off brand cheaper DA's, just hold out a while longer til you save up for a Porter Cable/Meguiars DA. that harbor freight one in the 2nd link is okay, but the 10" pad makes it a bit harder to use than the 6" ones the PC's, the ergonomics aren't the best, and is the foam pad even changable? Thats where the majority of the use comes in with them. I only use the MF bonnets for removing any polish thats being too stubborn to come off by hand.

took me a good 3 years before I finally scrounged up enough to buy a G100 DA, kept spending the $ on other mods, but after finally getting it, its worth every friggin penny!

a good polisher and correct polish will go a long way and take out a lot of imperfections in the paint before you have to resort to wet sanding...

PC has been the standard for many years. After many years of use, the brushes in my 7424 finally wore out and boogerized the contacts on the motor armature. About a year ago, an acquaintance that occasionally rides with a bunch of us, introduced me to the UDM. I was very favorably impressed. It has much more power than the PC. I realize much greater diversity in pressure on the pad without the head stopping its oscillation (the PC required a fairly constant light amount of pressure). The UDM (because of the increased power of the motor) also allows for greater constant pressure on the head without stoppage as well. Whoever the person was that came up with the UDM had obviously used a 7424 and made a couple improvements. I really don't care if the components are made in China or not ... it still has the same 1 year warranty as the PC. It really is as close to my wool bonnet rotary as I think an orbital can get. Someone said it cost less than a PC 7424? Where from? I had to pay more for the UDM than what I could have replaced the PC!

Heads up to all those getting ready to buy a PC 7424 for spring clean-up! The PC 7424 kit (polisher, 6" counterweight, 6" velcro backing pad, polish pad) for only $119. Least expensive I have ever seen them. Go to:
