Best bet is to start asking yourself how fast you want to go. 13's? 12's? 11's?
What you need to do to your truck will depend on your answer to the above question. And I'd be willing to bet there are a bunch of folks on this site who can tell you how to get there.
If you just want to go wide open the first time out, buy a built long block from one of the reputable builders that our members mention and you'll be grinning from ear to ear.

My R33 is a beast around town, currently make 404WHP @ 12psi. i also have a GTIR pulsar that i used to Drag Race and sometime Time Attack. However i would no mind having a 13 sec Truck to tow my Race Car to the Track.
