    Aren't your head studs reusable?

And wasn't it nice popping those heads off without that motor burried in the truck LoL!

Spending extra money to replace head studs for preventative measures, yet going with a cheapo converter that lots of guys have had issues with in the past Whats that saying...robbing Peter to pay Paul lol

well i havent bought the converter yet....and i when i searched for art carr i came up with a few problems but that was like 5 years ago

I haven't bought anything yet im waiting for a good deal on a PI to arise then i will snag one but 900 bucks is kinda steep for me right now

Im buying the new head studs because i have the old style ones with no allen head in them....

So keep your eyes open for any good deals

p.s Ryan has been running his art carr for over 4 years with no problem

Just saying Art Carr is one of the lesser used converters in these trucks. Lesser used = lesser issues heard about. And just like anything, there can always be some good ones with some bad ones. For a cheaper alternative to a PI converter, I'd look into a Circle-D. I don't like how they use studs like the stocker vs. bolts like the PI, but the only difference is installation is easier with the PI. So far Circle-D has had a pretty good rep on NLOC, and the guy who builds them owns a L himself. I'm not sure exactly what they run, but its somewhere in the 1/2-2/3 the cost of a PI IIRC.
