    Kentucky devastated by ice storm

I'm finally back... been disconnected from the outside world for almost a week. We had an ice storm come in and drop almost 4 inches on us. Knocked out power, phone & cable. First night we froze. Next day we dropped $ 650 for a 5000W generator. It was enough to keep the gas furnace, fridge & TV on anyway. Power finally came back on Saturday night and just got cable / internet. Thought I'd share some pics:

My truck stayed in the garage and we used the wifes AWD for everything. I have to say I'm impressed!! Luckily it's over and life seems to be getting back to normal. Of course, now it look like another round of snow is on the way

We had to go on a waiting list at Home Depot Wednesday night. We paid premium price for it, but it was nice to be able to stay in our own home. Out of the hundreds of hotels / motels around we found one that one room left for $ 50. After driving by it I decided the $ 650 generator looked better! LOL
