    Over spray

    Hello !

I have problem...My neighbor in the driveway next to me decided to paint his outdoor Rohn antenna tower. He used a Exterior paint and the over spray blew all over my truck. It's bad, Feels like sand paper. What is the best way to take it off? Any help would be great.

Clay Bar is what I would start with. Good luck!
Or take it to a detail shop and bring your neighbor the bill.

I don't really have the skill to play around with the paint and I would be to afriad of messing something up. But if you have the skill and the confidence start with a clay bar and if that doesn't work use a buffer starting with least abrasive pad and work your way higher until you find something that works. Though it might just be worth taking it to a detailer and let them take care of it

I'd get a quote from a detailer and take it to your neighbor.

It'll take a good amount of claybaring to get it all off.

I assume you have already taken lots of pictures of your truck and what he painted and spoke to your neighbor.

That being said...he should have offered to take care of it and if not, contact who you need to...get an estimate and give him a copy. If he elects to get a different estimate from somewhere else, just make sure you agree to take it there as he may be trying to be a cheapstake...worse case scenario....small claims court.

Yea i spoke with him more about it today. See i just moved into this new house, only been there about a month now. I hate to get off on the wrong foot you know. We took a small bit of thinner and a rag to it today just in a little spot by the fender well. It didn't come off to easy. I will stop and get some clay bars and try that. He knows how i am with my truck, He see's me washing it in the driveway all the time. I am kind of pissed with as much Wax as i put on it"that stuff should wipe off" LOL. Thank you all for the replies and i will keep you all updated on the out come.

Be careful using paint thinner to get the overspray off. Its probably a bit hard on the clearcoat.

Even claybaring it with that much overspray will probably do some havoc with swirl marks with that much contaminates on the paint.
