Help With Brake Pedal Pad Replacement

FYI, the part number for a replacement brake pedal pad is 7L3Z-2454-A

It's been slightly redesigned with more rubber on the outer edges.

Now, I got the old pad off without a hitch, but getting the new one on has not been easy. Anybody got any tips or tricks on how to get this puppy installed? I must be all thumbs or very impatient, because I can't the fracking thing to go on all the way. I'm at the point of just having the dealer service department put it on, though I'm loathe to pay for something I should be able to do myself. Help!

did you heat it up a little. I got mine on after about 20 min working with it. THEN I read somewhere that if you heat it up a little, it will go on a lot easier.
