    Flat Spot on P-Zero Tires

    Guys,

Having a minor issue with my 2007 HD. The truck has 5,200 miles with 22" Pirelli P-Zeros (stock). In the morning, I commute to work 25 miles on the highway. For the first 5-10 miles of the commute, I have a minor shaking of the steering wheel (noticable, annoying but not terrible). After 5-10 miles, the shaking slowly goes away. Only happens at highway speeds (65-75).

Took the truck in to the dealership Friday hoping they would check balance on the tires just for my piece of mind. The dealer claimed this is a well known problem with flat spots on F150s and didn't do anything.

    Has anyone experienced this problem?

im assuming this may be caused from cupping from the tires being wide. i remember josh saying something about this a while back. might have read it wrong though.

may just want to make sure you check the tire pressures more often

I had that on my '02 (20" Toyos) in colder weather. Once the tires gained temp, it went away. If you are sitting over night in the cold, then the tires will form a temperary flat spot.
Something to try might be a Nitro fill instead of regular air?... Just a thought.

But I do agree with your first instincts, unbalance will shutter at those exact speeds. Look around the rims and see if you can't find where a weight might have fallen off...
