    1. When you first start moving, your drive wheels can slip ever so slightly before gaining traction. This is a miniscule amount, but over the life of a tire it makes a difference.
    2. When you turn a corner, tires "scrub" and do not rotate with 100% traction on the street. This effects the overall revolutions per mile.
    3. Tire pressure effects tire RPM. As outside temperatures change (and even just driving from cold tires to warm tires) the RPM of the tire changes. Again, this is a very small amount but makes a difference over the life of a tire.
    4. Tires in different positions on the vehicle will rotate different amounts based on turning, etc.

The tire industry has an equation to calculate tire RPM which takes into account these and other factors. This is how our tire size calculator is set up and why it is not coming up with the numbers that your math is.

Are you 1010tires as in the owner of the 1010tires website? If so, I gotta say, I LOVE your tire size calculator! I've been using it for YEARS whenever guys have tire sizing questions on here. Heck I've got it in my IE8 toolbar quick links favorites menu I visit the site so much

    Ok now I'm confused.

With the Hankook 295/45/20 what would the correct setting be?

    683, 681 or 662

Leave it alone. Stock is only 275-45-20 so you are probably 1-2 mph off...slower. Heck our speedo probably vary 1mph + or - from one truck to another. Look at it like this...it may save you a speeding ticket

Too Late... at this point I'm not sure what the original setting was...
I do know it was close to the far right of the Axle Ratio > Tire Size sliding bar setting.

I used 662 with the Kook 295/45/20 and that brought the bar way to the far left.
I would like to get an exact (as possible) gas mileage and speedometer reading.

As you can see I have wound up with three different numbers to plug into the Predator...
Any thoughts, knowledge, and expertise to clarify would be greatly appreciated.
After all, this thread is: Predator and Tires size... do not leave it stock
A little help and guidance from the NHTOC experts out there would be welcomed.

Its like 2 mph off at 60. Nothing thats a big deal to worry about, but it is still nice to have it accurate for mpg, knowing your actual speed, etc.

If you need to go back to the stock one, there should be an option to restore all alterations to factory in the predator.

Old thread revival... Merlin. I have mine set at 681 and on the sawgrass when I pass the radar that displays your speed. I am dead on ... If my speedo shows 80 the radar show 80 every time.

Yeah, Mike. I'd go with 681 since the Kook's site shows that as correct too.

There are 4 machines... 2 in each direction and I take the road 5 days a week. All 4 machines show my speed exactly to my speedo. I test it every day on my boring drive to work
