    This section is pretty dead

You guys with all those 6.0 and 6.4's are too quiet. I work on them almost everyday for no-starts or other niggling issues. Im surprised there is not much talk here about them. I thought this would be the busiest section in the entire site! Anyone have any problems or questions?

haha well I can say all these issues about the diesel trucks has scared me away from buying one, so maybe everyone's ran and hidden away lol

Wish there was a diesel guru around me like you Newman. That'd at least ease the worry of getting a diesel for my case

Yes yank the extra aftermarket electronics off, we have issues often that are resolved once the add-ons are filed under G.

Hey thanks, its just my job. When I started at this dealer 7 years ago I specifically stated I didnt work on diesels (i know less than nothing about a 7.3) and now here I am, the specialist at our dealer. I resisted learning about them but gave up and embraced them, now I love the 6.0....at least to work on it that is lol. I would love an 07 HD250 but the trade-up from my Harley F150 is over $20K difference! No thanks, hopefully mine will hold and the F250 will plummet making it more reasonable to make the move.

The F150 side of this site is more active than the Super Duty sections.

If it comes down to problem solving, I would be much more willing to post someplace like in Ford Truck Enthusiasts' Super Duty, V10, 6.0L, or 6.4L forums than here. (That is obviously depending on the truck & problem.) It is nice having NHTOC for general chit-chat, reading what folks have done or want to do with their trucks, and browsing member galleries.

Check for power and ground at the 2 prong connector on the blower when its on high. Five the blower resistor a wiggle and check the connectors for green death. If nothing you can run a self diagnostic on the control head (provided its EATC) and retrieve codes if any are present to help direct you. If you have power to the motor and its a no-go, you have your answer!

Dont buy a 6.0 or be a diesel tech if you own one lol. Not sure the I-6 is an improvement. The more you know the worse off you are, I would love a 6.0 but I also know that no matter how I maintain one I can still be let down with a failure that is very time consuming to repair. Not something I can Mickey Mouse on the side of the road to get her home and fix later.

None of the newer diesels are very friendly from the "field repair" standpoint. I think Ford's 7.3L was about the end of the road for that. The ever-tightening emissions requirements seem to just "spawn" additional equipment (like the EGR, DPF, etc.) and electronics on the newer motors.

If they use the ford tranny. The dodges blow the trannys at the local truck pulls. The fords do full pulls in stock trim! I like the fact the dodge sounds like a rig when they add stacks.
