    Question about 22" replicas

I have been hunting a set of 22" reps for a while now. From what i gathered from the group buy threads is that Detroit replicas no long is making the rims. I think i found a site that has them for 375 per rim. Does that sound about right or is that overpriced?

Also if these are priced decently, i know it has been hashed a million times, but what size 22" fits properly with a stock suspension 02HD?

As far as tire size I'm running the world famous staggered set up- 285/35/22 upfront and 305/40/22 in back.

If you can find any reps, try to get 9.5" width,... 10" works but it will limit your drop options to about 1" in the front. Also make sure you are buying the correct lug pattern

Detroit only does runs of them every so often. Before the most recent GB it was about a year before they did the last batch of them. So you may have 6-8 months before they do another run of them

$1500 is a decent price on them. I'd even pay $1800 for a set in mint shape since they are hard to find.

As for sizes, 285/35/22 is almost the same exact overall diameter as stock, so they'll fit any drop combo. A lot of guys stagger them though and do 285/35/22 up front and meaty 305/40/22's out back. Thats what I've got and I love it!

The site i found them on sais they are Detroit reps, but they dont list the lug pattern. Im going to call them to make sure they are in stock, and if so then check the lug pattern.

Thanks for all the info on tire sizes. probably go with 285/35/22 all around that way i can rotate, but im thinking about the staggered setup. Now that my truck only gets driven on the weekends, it has a lot less miles being put on her, and rotations wont be as necessary as before.

Youre better off staggered IMO those beefy tires on the back look good. I cant fit 22's in my front because of my drop but i would love to fit 22's on the rear , not sure how it would look though with 20's in the front and 22's on the back.

Do the staggered! They look great!! Especially if you don't rack up the miles. But heck, I think the 305/40's were actually a little cheaper than the 285/35's since its a more popular size, so it's cheaper for me to replace the rears than fronts anyway LOL!

What size drop, rims, and tires do you have now? I bet you could fit 22's up front! 285/35/22's are the same OD as stock 275/45/20's, and guys have ran those on 4/6 drops! You can even get slightly smaller tires than 285/35/22's without being total rubber bands, but man 22's look SO nice all around!

here's some staggered shots. 20/20, 20/22, then 22/22. The 20/22 looks okay, but the 22/22 looks best. That low profile tire on the big rim really makes the 22's pop!

Josh in the front the only thing that i have are the belltech spindles. With the stock tire it used to rub a little on bumps now i have michellin 275/40/20 and it still rubs a little.

I believe you never trimmed the fender flares then, because I have the exact same set up as you, toyos proxes 275/40/20 and trimmed, no rubbing on the Jersey bumpy roads.

How to: Trim the fender flares

It was rubbing a lot when I had it with cut coils on the stock springs + Belltech spindles, I even lost a inner fender as result.

belltechs are a 2" drop. You can EASILY get away with 285/35/22's on there man! Like hoffie said, a quick trim of the fender flare and ALL your rubbing issues will vanish! You can't see the trim at all from outisde the truck, you literally have to look up inside the fender well to see what you trimmed off the flare. And if it's done cleanly and not dallas-style, you'd never even know that the edge wasn't trimmed from the factory. My truck is lowered 2.5" up front and I've NEVER rubbed the inner fender yet with the 285/35/22's on there. I used to rub it all the time with a 3" drop and 295/45/20's.

Another vote for 22" Replica's with staggered 285/35 front and 305/40 rear tires.
