A new year is upon us and with the start of 2010 that brings a time to look back on the previous year, some resolutions, and of course what you all have been waiting for….the next TOTM winner.
From the first time I had the opportunity to meet this person; you can easily and quickly tell that he exemplifies what it means to be a member of this community. A member since June of 2003 and is no stranger to many of you, always one to lend a helping hand and no more than a phone call away for advice, information, or even just a good laugh.
You can usually find him tearing it up in his truck, flying through the air on some dirt bikes, or best of all…tooling around on his modded scooter at the track!! Trust me on this one; if you haven’t had a chance to see this scooter, you need to. It’s better than a fat guy on a pink Vespa.
All kidding aside, without further delay, I would like to be the first to congratulate our 1st TOTM winner for 2010, member #125 Kurt “Musturbo” Kennedy and his immaculate 2003 Shamu.
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your HD Truck?
When the 00 model came out, I loved it. When the 03 came out, I had to have one. After a few years, I was lucky enough to be in a position to purchase the two tone I have now.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
Haha, Yeah I had an 02 that tried to do me in. Next was a perfect 01 that I sold and it got totaled not long after. 3rd time’s a charm!
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list your favorites if you'd like!
New Ford block, Navigator oil pan, Manley rods, Steel crank, custom CP pistons, custom grind Comp cams, oversize Manley valves, Kris Starnes ported heads and intake 4x4 transmission pan, Metco driveshaft loops, Bilstein shocks, Cannon headers and 3 in exhaust, Metco idlers, Accufab tb, Jlp 10lb lower, BHJ balancer, C&L elbow, K&N filter, Belltech shackles, Rotorpros rotors, V-led hid headlights and foglights, Lightning headlights, clear markers ,LED bulbs, Bedrug, L 3rd brake light, Toyo 295/40/20’s, Venom grille mod, carbon fiber int. accents, Phew! I think that ‘s it
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
I do IT and data circuits for AT&T. My hobbies are dirt bikes, bmx, boxing, martial arts, computers, and hd trucks
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
It’s a family community not a bunch of clowns flaming each other and a great source of info and advice.
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
Easier access to info like wiring schematics, part #’s, etc. It is spread across old threads and posts all over the site. I would be great to be in like a FAQ section
Question # 7:
This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
Back in the AOL days I had a turbo mustang = musturbo
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck? So, what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?!
Finish the fuel system, build the tranny and a bigger blower. Long term , If Ford comes out with a larger displacement mod motor I may do something with that
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn't have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your web site link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
I have to thank Pat, my beautiful and understanding wife, all the guys on this site for their help and advice, my FHTOC brethren, all you members who voted for me, Matt for taking the responsibility of totm, and Kris Starnes for his tireless efforts with all my stuff ranging from modded scooter’s to Harley trucks!
