i used a helwig kit front an rear
for the most part it was good and the ride is awesome now the only other thing i had to buy was shorter end links to get them sitting properly
Hotchkis if they're still around.
love the hotchkis swaybars fr/rr on my truck, though I only have shackles in the rear.
there is an issue with it though, it requires changing the tailpipe hanger mounting location, my truck came with the swaybars installed already when I bought it but they didn't do the tailpipe hanger relocation correctly so the exhaust hangs way down compared to how it should, I haven't figured out a better way to mount it to the frame yet.
Also have Belltech Drop Leafs and have a Hellwig that's mounted from underneath the differentia as opposed to over the top. The Hellwig bar is actually stiffer that the L and Hotchkis bars.
What is the cheapest one in price? or are they all around the same? And which one installs best/best fit and finish??
Hotchkis are more expensive and sell both front and rear together, I believe. Helwig you can just buy the rear and keep the stock front bar to save cost. Fit and finish goes to Hotchkis, IMO. This one one of my favorite mods.
hotchkis rear on Jekyll. Install sucks, just a PITA doing it yourself, but it is a big help.
Hellwig improved their finish several years ago. Bought mine the summer of 2007 and it came with the super nice finish shown below. Install wasn't difficult, however, I did buy shorter grade 8 bolts because the ones included were too long due to my lowered height.
yeah the finish on mine sucked and I had it powdercoated again, but it was their original finish, not the new stuff.
And the install of yours on the underside definitely makes it way easier! Half the PITA is just getting the sway in place over the axle getting tangled up between the driveshaft, shocks, and other crap!
just get a used Lightning sway bar ... least expensive and best design for install.
Its hard to find a used L sway bar. So i guess Hellwig its probably going to be. I found it for 230$ thanks for the responses guys.
where can i buy the bolts for the sway bar?
So what size/length bolts do you need when you're lowered this far with the Hellwigs? How's the install with this kit? Anything need to be moved/re-routed (brake lines, exhaust hangers)?
