It is time for us to recognize the August TOTM winner who has been with the NHTOC since 10/25/2005. Being double lucky, this month’s TOTM winner is a winner X2 you could say…how you ask?, well of course winning the honor of being TOTM, but also being our first Registered User to win this honor. A very deserving win for an individual whose life is about making sure that others are looked after, specifically those who need the most looking after. He is a truly unselfish individual in both his career & his personal life and Karma will always be looking out for him and his family.
He is a regular contributor to the site with threads and posts stemming from a wealth of knowledge for others, to just posting up something to make us all laugh. Always ready with a good answer or something outrageous to say, it is surely going to be a good thread when you see his posts. Not that posting is all he has to offer, just like the rest of the NHTOC family, his truck is always a work in progress and after each mod, there is always an offer to help out anyone who needs it.
This month’s winner, when he is not out on a “cruise around in the country with my wife, drink a few beers, and listen to the radio” is back, hard at work trying to making his truck live up to the stature that we all strive for. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, wait just a minute here…cruise in the country with the wife drinking a few beers??!! No wonder the cops chase him down thinking that he is a bank robber!! Hey, he said it…not me. Good thing he has that SC with some supporting mods to make it at least a fun chase.
So with that being said, let me be the first to congratulate this month’s TOTM winner and I give you August 2010’s TOTM winner, John “Black Molly” Guthrie and his 2002 HD F150 #7722
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks? Specifically you’re HD Truck?
POWER BABY POWER! I saw the Harley’s when they first came out and stated "who would want to buy some badged up truck for twice the price". Then I saw the 02 Harley truck and fell in love. First thing I saw were the famous FLAMES on the side and then popped the hood and saw the SUPER CHARGER. One drive and a change of underwear later the truck was mine.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
The dealership that I bought my truck from is right next to an interstate highway. I was finishing up the paperwork and talking to the salesman when we saw all of the cops flying down the road. We both wondered what was going on. Well I jumped in my truck and was heading home when I saw a state trooper in my rear view mirror with his lights on. I looked down and was going the speed limit and I had my seat belt on. So I switched lanes thinking he needed to pass. Well he is still behind me. I pull over and he angles his car behind mine. I sat there for a few minutes and he never approached so I get out with my license and insurance and start walking back to him. The next thing I know the trooper has a gun drawn on me telling me to turn around and get on the ground. Needless to say I complied. The trooper comes up and hand cuffs me and asked me, "Do you know why I stopped you"? At this point I told him man I have no idea. The trooper then says that my truck matches the description of a truck that just robbed a bank. He then puts me in the back of his car and asks me where I have been for the last hour. I told him that I just bought the truck and he can call up the dealership to verify. I then saw more cops pull up. At this time I am REALLY FREAKING OUT. I have been told many times that I look like this or that person and was hoping know one says "YA that's the guy”. Well they call up the dealership and verify that I just bought the truck and it was not me that robbed the bank. They let me go. I told them that I was going straight home and please don't stop me again. I saw the truck on the news that night and it did look just like my truck.
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list your favorites if you'd like!
I will go in the direction of air flow.
REM intake with 12" filter
MAFia
SVO SBTB
C&L Plenum
Magnum Power Blower with Cobra Rotors(on the way)
Billetflow QC upper Pulley
9" lower pulley
Motoblue idler bracket
Gatorback belt
NGK Iridium plugs
Weapon's X COPS
Predator Tuner
170 T stat
FTVB
Magna Flow 14" DI/DO muffler
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
I work for the state of Oklahoma and investigate child abuse in primarily Hispanic neighborhoods. My main goal is to make sure children are safe either in their home or sometimes placed with relatives. One thing that has been reinforced from my job is TREAT OTHER HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. I never go into someone’s home and disrespect them regardless of what is alleged. I am a FIRM believer in KARMA. I love to go fishing even when I don't catch a thing. That time with friends and family can NEVER be replaced. My idea of a great night is to cruise around in the country with my wife, drink a few beers, and listen to the radio.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
The people here REALLY seem to care and you don't find trash talking punks at every turn. I may post something and it may be a little off. Someone will come along and say, that is not what I have experienced and this is what happened to me. Instead of telling someone they are a DUMB @SS and they really need to shut up! I hate ARROGANT people. If you disagree with me that is cool....do not take it to a personal level.
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
Something that I saw at this one job I thought was AWSOME. When a person was in a tough spot and needed to sell something they would raffle it off. Let say a person wants to sell a MP blower for $1000 dollars. They would sell tickets for $20 a piece. After they sold 50 ticket($1000) they would draw a name. Whoever was drawn won that MP blower for a $20 ticket....EVERYONE is happy. This could also be done by a Vendor of The Month.
Question # 7:
This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
My wife came up with the name. Black Molly is a street term "speed"
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck?, so what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?
I have a MP blower on the way. I want to ride the razor edge for a bit and boost up to around 17-18# of boost on a stock block. I am hoping to get into the 12's. I know at any other track I would be there already but Thunder Valley is known to be one of the slowest tracks this side of the Mississippi. All I REALLY want to do is beat my brother s C5 FRC.
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn't have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your web site link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
From this sight I have been able to make local friends that help me out with my truck when I have NO IDEA how to fix it. I want to thank John (Joedpl) and Kenny (00blkbolt) for all the help over the years. It is a blast to go down to the track and run against another Harley truck. And yes black is faster
