    Chrome tape removal

    Morning Fellas,
I have chrome tape underneath my windows... Sort of an accent strip (I didn't put it on, it came that way). It's a pain to get off. Three layers first the sticky side, then the foil or "chrome" and finally some sort of vinyl sealant. Now it's seperating and I can't remove the different laters. I've tried goo off and elbow grease. It's starting to damage the rubber. Any suggestions?

have you tried using a hairdryer or heat gun? I have very good luck removing things like that with heat and wd40, go slow.

Try rolling some duct tape into a roll about the size of your pinky finger, sticky side out. Roll it across the stuff you wanna remove and tear layers off as it loses its stickiness.

Nope, tried something simliiar to that with gorill tape earlier... Since it's on the rubber it has almost obsorbed it.... I can scrape it off.... Thats the only way I guess. Maybe I'll just put another layer over it.

gaylord trim? Whatcha mean? I'm talking about the rubber part right below the window and above the door. It's about 2.5 inches thick.... Weather stripping?

Yeah I'm pretty much at my wits end.... I'm going to try and find replacement tape and just re-apply... no way around it (shrug)

    Meant to say Blackwood trim.
below window, top of door. The blackwood trim replaces original.

If you want my orig, slightly used PM me with shipping info. Or you can invest in the Blackwood trim
