I know about catchcans and the ones currently on the market. I still havent got one on my 02 and im looking at local shops. My local shop has the morosso breather tank 85470 for $76 , will it work? It has a breather ontop.

Yes and no....with a breather on top you are putting UNMETERED air into your engine which is BAD

It is designed for dry sump engines. The breather will allow unmetered air into the intake and it acts as a catch-can that will need to be emptied. I would simply get an AMW (need to drain occasionally) or L&S oil separator (maintenance free) and be done with it. Would it "work"? ... yes ... marginally. As Molly said^^^ ... presents other issues.

Do it once...do it right! L&S

In the words of Ron Popeil "Set it and forget it!"

That's what I like about this site...It may cost you a little more up front but...
doing something over to correct a mistake or problem always costs me more.

I call it "The high cost of saving money."

you can do it right, or you can do it again.

I'm a big fan of the L&S, I got mine used for about $100 a few months ago.

Agreed...I found one for about the same.
It was blue and I had to paint it black. (big deal)

Keep your ear to the ground if you want to save.
Hold out, save up and do it right.
L&S is the way to go!

the L&S isn't expensive because its maintence free, its expensive because it WORKS. The AMW also works, and isn't maintenance free, but only slightly less expensive.

If you're looking for a cheapie fix, there isn't one unfortunately.

If you have ever actually looked up all the parts to build a L&S separator yourself it is VERY expensive...you would really be suprised. But they work so that is all that really matter...if you want one that will "limp you by" get the air compressor separators...they do work...just not that long

dont need anything, the drivers side isn't the issue. and don't add a breather, it adds unmetered air to the crankcase and affects your tune.
