Projector retro just about complete, waiting for install on truck

Just finishing up projectors I'n lightning housing Thanx to a great friends help! Can't wait to get them installed
Went with fxr bi-xenon projectors with Mercedes AMG e55 shrouds with clear lens and spacers on lenses for a purple/blue color flicker

For the hid ballast I wanted oem for reliability so I went with denso ballast which Toyota/Lexus and other high end cars use. Bulbs I went with PHILIPS ultinon 6700K d2s bulbs
ALSO had a custom made wire harness that makes the bi-xenon and 9007 hid kit true plug and play

Here's a pic of the color flicker and low beam light output using 5000k bulbs

TL's arent the best bi-xenons anymore though! they wont fit in our headlites either without major modification and then they still prolly too big....if you want the best bi-xenons than its the FX-R's or the lexus LS460's hands down! some ppl still swear by them but if you have seen the retro's i have versus these you would understand..... as for single low beams, its honda s2000's AP1's hands down and after those are the acura TSX's. as for color flicker, the fxr's are above the rest even versus the honda s2k's stock. now after u add color mods to the s2k's they are rite around the fxr's.

.....YAYYY!! Got my denso/koito/Toyota ballast I'n and boy are they slim! So can't wait for the install to come!

looks great man. can't wait to see them installed. You're only the 3rd HD guy I've seen ever do this. 400HP02 (later known as 600HP02) did them back in 2003 on his 02 DSG HD, then Dallas did them for madness a few years ago but it was a hack job.

What did it end up costing you? I'll have to end up doing that when I get a Raptor since they don't come with HID's. You'll be much happier with these over conversions with HID's in a halogen reflector

about $550-$600 and thats just for the projectors/shrouds/OEM BALLAST/PHILIPS bulbs/harness....+hardware which is just nuts/bolts/silicone and if you dont have dremel,ect... you can go cheaper with cheaper hid kit but supposedly it can mess up the bowls of the projectors bc most aftermarket bulbs have a different chemical in it that harms the bowls
im really happy from already seeing the performance of the projectors and quality.

i have had hid's in the stock lightnings and harley heads and always knew i would be doing this but.... cant wait to take her out for a spin bc imma actually feel like im driving my moms LS460!! NOTHING LIKE A SPORT TRUCKIN lexus lol cant wait!! this mod equals to my whipple as in fun factor! like the whipple how i feel it everytime i drive her, ill see the retro everytime i drive her

Looks cool, I like the fact that you used OEM ballasts instead of China special. I've been through a couple of those already!

Also impressed that you typed up a how to from your iphone!!

Nice work. I'd have to see them mounted to know if I really liked. Performance I definately like, but never been fond of the projector look, just too European for me. Perhaps seeing them installed on the truck in OEM housings will make a world of difference for me.
