I`ve been using Motorcraft oil since the truck was new...would it hurt to change over to Pennzoil....

which pennzoil? Motorcraft is a synthetic blend. I wouldn't switch back to conventional. I'd only switch to a full syn, or just keep using the syn blend.
Why switch?
Motorcraft is a syn blend and it's pretty good stuff. I personally use Mobil1 full syn and a Mobil1 filter. IMHO you can switch to a full synth but not to a full Dino oil.
So if you're running full synthetic you can't switch back to conventional oil? Why?
Will this cause a problem or is this reservation because synthetic is a better oil?
I'm still running Motorcraft in my 03 and changing the oil every six months as I don't get 5k in that period.

I switched from Motorcraft to Royal Purple 5-20. No problems at all! Go for it..
yep, i plan to stay with motorcraft...
i was asking in general also for my nephew... he has a Nissan truck that was passed down to him with full synthetic. on a college budget full synthetic is a little expensize for him. he's not that handy with with the wrench yet to do it himself but he's getting there.
Happy New Year HD Guys!!!

Go Royal Purple you wont regret it.
penzoil sucks
^^ +1 dino oil sucks penzoil even more.
i guess i will keep using the Motorcraft? i just got tired of seeing the thick gunk under my oil cap and wanted to switch to something better...
If you got sludge build up under your cap some one somewhere has mixed your oil and proably put Penzoil in it
that is the #1 oil for sludge build up
Ill be using Castrol Synthetic or Mobil 1 with a Motorcraft filter. Both are great oils, Motorcraft is probably one of them anyways. Most dealer brands are just a bigger brand rebottled. Btw, Penz and Quaker are the same. Im biased though, I use to work for a Castrol sponsered shop.
