    Question big tranny issues...help asap please :(

    I left out the house just now to grab a bite to eat and when i was leaving the red light around the corner, truck felt like it was in neutral but wasnt, she didnt go anywheres and the tranny OVERDRIVE BUTTON on the stick was flashing on and off! looked at engine light and check engine light was def. on! i checked my engine codes and there were 3 (p1747,p0743,p0755). The truck barely and i mean barely goes while in drive but wants to go in 1st, 2nd, and reverse....
    ended up limpin her home in 2nd
    I'm still astounded bc the truck was shifting and running like a champ before the problems
    Can anyone give me ANY/ALL INPUT?!?!

    THANKS ! !

    Check your all fuses. I'm not sure what the codes are.

    1747 = Pressure Control Solenoid "A" - short circuit
    0743 = Torque Converter Clutch Circuit - Electrical
    0755 = Shift Solenoid "B" - malfunction

    Only the 1747 code is specific to Ford. The other two codes are generic to all vehicles (all "P0" codes are generic).

    I would start troubleshoot with the solenoids. They are easy and fairly inexpensive.

    As I can tell the codes seem to be electrical. Talk to Paul the Punisher he could help out.

    First thing to do is get up under there and see if your tranny wire harness have been burnt or melted in any way. This is the most common thing that happens and that throws the whole thing out of wack.

    Can't tell you how many times I have seen a thread about the OD button flashing and Tranny problems and this was the cause.
