Thanks....just sent email.......................
love seeing pics of shiny trucks
There are a few other places I also want to apply it.
Wiper Cowl, mirror trim, plastic trim around the back window etc.[/QUOTE]
Did you do your plastic trim around the back window yet?
Gladi found this thread gotta get the rubber and plastic products oh and the metal polish.
Just got around to doing the back plastic window trim.
The process I used WAS very different than the back bumper! I originally used the same process as the bumper and I had streaks.
I used a clean yellow detail sponge and only used ONE drop. I spread (one direction only) VERY light pressure to avoid streaks.
I also found if you want to reduce the shine you can rub it with your fingers a few moments (even a few second) after you apply it.
Not to worry, it will be almost dry and does not come off on your fingers.
I'm sure this VERY light pressure, ONE drop process would work on other areas. Wiper cowl, bed caps, side rear view mirrors etc.
BEFORE
The windows trim pics below are after three VERY light coats. With each coat the finish become darker and shinier. It is hard & dry not oily.
Look to the left of the third brake light. See where I stopped on the top trim. So far, I have only done the left side. I stopped to take pics.
AFTER
NOTE:
I found you can remove Dry Shine - Black Trim Restorer with 91% IPA. This time I did not use blue tape. I got some on my paint and glass.
I didn't use gloves either and got some on my fingers. It came right off if you remove it with the IPA right away.***Do not wait to remove it!***
Looks good, you recommend it?
Where to buy?
Manufacturer Website: Dry Shine - Black Trim Restore Treatment
It is totally different than anything I have used. It's a black, hard, dry shine.
The trim becomes darker (it has black dye in it) with each applied coat.
It's a bit finicky to apply but not too bad once you get the hang of it.
Do I recommended it? If you are a bull in a china shop then it's not for you!
If you slop it on you will be hating life and wishing you never found this thread.
A little time and patience is required. I am very happy with the finished results.

Well that's an interesting question.
At a couple of local car shows there is this older guy (retired) that pulls a little red wagon full of detailing stuff.
He has all kinds of detailing products in it that I never heard of. The first product I purchased was a metal polish.
At the time, that was a product I was interested in. I had a need because my bed extender rails looked so bad.
I said to him "If you can polish just one rail on my bed extender and it works and looks good I’ll buy your stuff."
Well it worked great. I'm very happy with the results. He made a believer out of me with his red wagon products.
The next time I ran into him the had Dry Shine-Tire Shine. I bought some & the Dry Shine-Black Trim Restorer.
I haven't got around to trying out the Dry Shine-Tire Shine yet. You need to scrub your tires before application.
This gets rid of any OTC auto parts store spray can tire dressing that may have been applied & cleans the tires.
Tire kit incl. cleaner/prep, scrub brush, Tire Treatment, contoured applicator, microfiber towel and rubber gloves.
When I get to try the stuff out I'll do another review and post up my results. This is Dry Shine's flagship product.
I'm not trying to plug products. I'm kinda fascinated by this guy and his never heard of before red wagon products.
These are not mainstream products. I can't wait to find him at the next show & see what else is in his red wagon.
Call him he's good peeps. Talk to him about it and tell him NHTOC Merlin HD 03 sent ya' and tell him I said hello.
Ok I'm off to buy my little red wagon............lol
Merlin how is it holding up? Still good?
What do you like to use on chrome wheels?
Still looks VERY close to what it did when I applied it.
Rear bumper was real easy to apply. The flatter black trim was a little fussier but still easily doable.
It's still BLACK and still shiny. It's outlasted anything else I've tried!!!
OMG this stuff is fussy to put on..Great durability and product but takes some patience and practice to do.
Yepper, I did mention that it is fussy. On the back bumper it's pretty easy.
First coat just rub it on. Second coat VERY light for that hard glossy look.
How did your rear bumper come out?
On "flatter trim pattern" mirrors, rear window trim etc. VERY light, ONE direction and ONE time!
When it's completely dry you can do another coat with the same above VERY light process.
IMHO it takes a learning curve to learn how the product behaves and reacts.
It's worth it IMHO to learn how it behaves. It's shiny, dry and lasts a VERY LONG time!
One drop dont work for me, its like nothing is going on. maybe my plastic is so dried out it just soaks it up
