First BIG question. What part are you trying to to coat?
Let me know and I'll try to guide you with my use experiences.

One drop is probably not enough product to "Git-Er-Done".
Try putting a dime/nickel sized amount on your applicator pad.
Only apply in one direction and only one thin coat at a time.
Do not go over or overlap areas where you have already done.
Remember: Your'e applying a coating. Think like enamel paint.
You can apply multiple coats but the prior coat must be dry.

Just did the bumper, top of the tail gate, and the tail gate handle. I put a line the width of one inch. came out ok. My 1st try was on the piece on the side windows which came out with streaks. will take it off and redo.

When I do the sides of the bumpers (for that shiny wet look) I put a nice wet line on the applicator and wipe very light.
Keep Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) on hand and a clean cloth to remove any excess that may get on the paint right away.
Sounds like you're starting to get the hang of it & making progress. Is it black now? Keep me posted on your results.

The side windows are rubber, not plastic trim. That's a different product for rubber than the black plastic trim. (sigh)
For the side windows I personally prefer a flat black matte finish not the shiny finish of the Dry Shine Trim Restorer.

I found wetting the applicator with water will give me a easier time, Can actually cover the whole trim back and fourth overlapping does not matter.

Way to think outside the box!
Not sure how well it will react with water. I'll give it a try too. I'll start by just misting the applicator with water and report my findings

I try to keep all dryshine products off the paint, as the cleaner will take the wax right off. So if you can take it off than try cover up.
I found applying the product directly would give unforgiving streaks. So I ended up dampening the applicator with water add a line of dryshine to it and work it on plastic. It can still give streaks but its more forgiving, its goes into all the cracks and pores, better coverage. Try not to miss a spot as that will be the streak, but since its wetter with the water added you just go over the missed spot, wipe any excess that went on. You will have to put on more coats. End results= Just like new again.

P.S. just dont mistake rubber trim for plastic.....lol.....damn....

    How did it come out?

A while back I showed someone this product and they seemed a bit upset when they saw the results.
They just spent $1200 purchasing new plastic trim and the Dry Shine looked as good as their new trim.
Glad you found a technique (misting the applicator) allowing application on finer finish parts without streaking.

I have a couple of black trim parts I want to use it on.

WG 2.0 is my new personal favorite.
    Three coats under your LSP.
    Apply LSP wax or sealant.
Allow LSP to cure (if sealant)
Apply OVER LSP for final "show" coat.

These are not "mainstream" auto-parts store products.
They are however, easy to obtain and achieve great results.

Please drop a line in the Wet Glaze 2.0 thread with your product opinion.
I apply it with a DA/LC black pad/Speed 3-4 and remove with a MF towel.
WG 2.0 has got to be the easiest product I've ever applied and removed.

It's been a month since you did the Dry Shine Black Trim Restore treatment.
Lots of "dressing" products can run and usually last a wash or two.

    What are you results?

    Is it still black?

Yepper, The Dry Shine Black Trim Restore is for plastics not for rubber.
You could try the Dry Shine Tire Treatment on the rubber if you want.
