    03 Harley wanting level.

I have an 03 Harley truck. I just installed some 2" drop shackles. And it still has 1/2" lift than the front. Is there any shackles that will drop it exactly as the front sits??
I was looking at the JLP shackles, will those do the job? Thanks

my truck sits basically level with the jlp shackles all the way down, I measured from hub to bottom of fender flares and they were the same all around.

I've raised the rear up 1 setting since this picture, so it's probably the same as yours, and the ride is a lot better, I think the rake helps smooth the ride out, even with L-spec bilsteins and shock extenders the rear is pretty choppy on the ****ty freeways in ventura county.

Is there a noticeable difference with those shock extenders?

it made a big difference on mine, there's still freeway chop but on large bumps it's alot more compliant and the truck rides better when I have heavy stuff in the bed.

JLP shackles are what you need. The 03's sit 1" higher in the rear due to an increased payload capacity of the springs.

Shock extenders usually don't affect ride quality, but they increase the lifespan of your shocks since they put them back in their intended operating range, and not crunched down to the compressed side all the time.

How does the Roush kit compare to the JLP Shackles? My buddy said the guy he bought his truck from installed the Bosch kit on it, but he doesn't know much about cars etc, so I told him he probably heard the guy wrong and it's a Roush kit. I'm not sure, so that's why I'm here checking to see how that kit measures up. Anyway, he said his truck feels great and from the photos he sent me it sits perfect with 22" wheels.

Yeah I ordered the JLP shackles. I'm going to go ahead and order those extenders since I just installed new shocks. I want them to last long as possible.

Roush kit is leafsprings, the JLP kit is shackles. So the shackles have the same stock ride quality, the roush leafs should firm it up a little bit, but not as much as hotchkis or belltech leafs. The roush kit was a really nice setup to have before they discontinued it. Hard to find now.

Are there any cons to shackles? I was told I'd need to get my bump stops shaved down when I get the shackles. I'm new to trucks, so is that a bad thing to shave the bump stops down?

Here's a four year old pic of my first drop on my 03. Had JLP shackles set on the lowest setting. Did get it even, but in the end, I went lower all around. Several things have changed for since then.
