    Steering stabilizer installed...

And what a difference it makes!!! Now I don't have to worry about careening off Oklahoma's notoriously bad roads. The steering is a whole lot smoother. The hardest thing to do during the install was getting the stabilizer extended out to 4.5", aside from that it was a piece of cake. Here's a pic of it installed:

(no JLP hasn't started selling these, I just had a spare sticker)

lol I was just about to ask about the JLP sticker.

Got one on my street truck and its definitely a must have! Painted it blue! Our front tires width really tracks the grooves in the road bad.

Any reason you chose not to install the boot?

I was told not to install the boot from the company rep that I talked to. He said that if water gets inside the boot that the boot would hold the moisture in, causing more harm than good. Personally I'm calling BS, but at the time when I was placing the order it sounded good. I'm trying to decide what color boot to order.....suggestions?

I really enjoyed the results after I installed mine. Like many have stated before, its the type of mod that you would not notice but if you removed it then you certainly would miss it. Makes the steering feel smoother and more controlled IMO.

I don't see why they'd sell a boot at all if that were the case, because this application is exactly what they were designed for! Except more towards 4x4's that see a lot more mud and water! I'd add the boot. What little water that may get in there...if it can get in, it can drain back out. Pinch a little drain hole if you're worried about it. The thing will see a lot more road grime and dirt than anything, which can get into the seals without a boot. I really notice how dirty mine gets being painted sonic blue, every time I change the oil I wipe the dirt down.

As for color, either black, and paint the stabilizer black or DSG. OR....get a light blue boot and paint the stabilizer yellow, or get a yellow boot and paint the stabilizer light blue...give it a matching look to the bilstein shocks!

I like the way that sounds, painting the shock yellow and getting a blue boot to match my bilsteins. I do have one other question though, what is the purpose of the dual steering stabilizer kit?

probably for even more dampening for offroading or higher lifted trucks with a lot more slop in the steering and suspension systems. I've seen dual setups on big lifted 4x4's.

The steering stabilizers aren't even really marketed towards us 2WD guys, so one is plenty, 2 would probably be overkill.

I got my kit off eBay, I tried calling LFP 3 different times and no one ever picked up the phone, otherwise I would have ordered from them. I can send you the item number from the auction I got mine from if you want. It is definitely worth the money.

Go to the lightningforceperformance.com and place ur order. Had mine for years and have the boot. Love that mod!!

I call bullshiat on the boot bc if that was the case, EVERY shock that has boots wouldn't! I see that comment as a typical salesperson trying to save a dollar by not offering the boot with the kit.
