This month’s winner comes to us from the currently snow ridden northeast in the land of Connecticut. Having been with the NHTOC since March of 2008 you can always find him on the boards sharing some personal knowledge, asking many a question, and of course posting up some good links and some nice pictures. Always a true contributor to the site from helpful education for others from his personal knowledge to just some crazy antidotes that makes us all laugh.
It’s a wonder that he finds time at all to be on the boards amongst everything else he has going on. A truly dedicated enthusiast to the wants & needs of the NHTOC community, this month’s winner put off getting some sleep after being awake for 32 hours straight of plowing snow so that his friends and neighbors could have some clear roads, and still found time to complete the questionnaire & get us the info we need to enjoy reading about this months TOTM.
A sure fire speed freak, when he is not chasing his two boys around being Dad, he can be found at his garage at Total Induction Tuning (www.totalinductiontuning) doing what we all love…making things go faster!! When he is not at the garage or having to handle business with his snow removal company, you can find him out and about enjoying time with his family on one of their many other toys.
Another true deserving winner in the great saga that we call TOTM and with that being said; let me be the first to congratulate our February 2011 TOTM winner, Jim B “CBRF150” Doherty Jr and his 2000 Black HD build #07820.
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your HD Truck?
A friend of mine had bought the truck brand new. Every time I saw the truck it made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Unfortunately he passed away and when his wife offered it to me to purchase, I said yes. I didn't care what the price was, I just said yes. I didn't want anyone else to have it, and knew no one would take care of it or respect it the way I would.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles you’ve owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
I have always been a truck guy, but I have had many different fox body mustang 5.0's and was always buying and selling different cars. DMV, the tax office, and my insurance company hated me. My all time favorites and wish I never sold have to be my 1989 Mustang lx 5.0 and 2001 F-350 4x4 Ext cab V-10
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mod's that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list your favorites if you'd like!
Sorry to let you guys down on this section. I don't have many mod's, I'm trying to keep it stock looking but add personal touches. I have an SCT programmer, 4:10 gears, lighting style side exit exhaust, deleted the rear mud flaps lowered it just a tad and changed the mirrors.
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
Well, I have 2 boys ages 4 and 7 and I work crazy hours. Between the shop and my landscaping company I hardly have time for any hobbies, but I love what I do. I love hearing the roar of a car or truck on the dyno at the shop with the smell of race gas in the morning, Well except q16. That chit downright stinks. In the summer you can find me out on my boat cruising the CT river or Long Island Sound or tearing it up on quads.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
I stumbled across the site looking for parts for my HD truck, I read a few posts that got me sucked in like a bad soap opera "dallasgt01" and just got to like how there was no swears and porn, my kids like to look over my shoulder when I'm on the computer. Although, some boobies next to a HD truck is nice every now and then.
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
I think it’s pretty good, I have noticed maybe need to update some of the moderators, are they even around anymore?
Question # 7: This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
I use it for everything, back when choosing an email address I didn't want to go with the normal boring. So at the time I had just bought a new 2000 Honda Cbr F4 and owned a 1997 reg cab f-150 4x4 and CBRF150 was born. That was 11 years ago OMG !
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck?, so what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?!
I have everything "in boxes" to go supercharged and I toyed around with the idea of a rear mount turbo set up, but I have almost 160k miles on it and use it to tow my boat and quads around. Trying to keep it alive for a long time ahead. I am going to update the front headlights to the 2003 style and add HID
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn't have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your web site link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
