Didnt make it to Autorama, too pretty out to spend time insde, but did pick up the Ultimate products at Wally's, didnt get the compound tho. Now I just need to stick it in the garage and detail it, should take about 3 nights to do it right.

Yep, and the spray detailer. Also got some Mothers Showtime for clay baring.

Oh, forgot to mention I like the fact that it comes with an applicator pad and a decent microfiber towel.

Well as long ans you don't have any scratches or swirls you need to correct then you should be fine.

First do the two bucket wash w/Original Dawn soap to remove and prior wax.
Put a sandwich bag on your hand and feel the paint. Do you feel bumps?
If so, then clay bar. At this point I may use a few drops dawn in a sprayer for the clay.
Dawn soap works as a good lube and you have just washed your truck with dawn.
If you needed to clay bar then wash/rinse your truck again to get all the clay bits off.

Inspect with a bright light. Hold the light 3' from the paint & look at it at an angle.
If you see swirls and fine scratches then you should use Ultimate Compound
If not then you should be good to go with Ultimate Polish to shine up the paint.
Side note: If you see swirls and UPolish doesn't correct it stop & get UCompound.

Otherwise when you're done with the Ultimate Wax you will have very shiny swirls!
If that happens you will need to strip it all down and start the polishing process over.
(Don't ask me how I know)

    Preparation is the key.

I once put a swirls in my paint just to see what it looks like.
I don't always detail paint, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's. Remove swirls my friends.

Do you have a DA polisher?

    I have a PC7424xp. I like it and the Griots 6" polisher.

If you have not purchased a DA yet here are a couple of thoughts:

PC7242xp does not come with a backing plate the Griots comes with a 6" backing plate.
The PC comes with some kind of polishing head. First thing to do is remove it & forget it.

I purchased a 5" backing plate and I can use it with the 5 1/2" LC flat, Surbuf & DA MF pads.
The 5 1/2" LC flat pads, Surbuf pads and the new DA Microfiber pads all fit a 5" backing plate.
After trying the Lake Country 5 1/2" flat pads I like feel & finish better than the 6.5" CCS pads.
That being said I prefer the CCS 6.5 inch Super Soft Gold Pad for Jewelling & applying LSP.

So IMHO the Porter Cable 7424XP Dual-Action Orbital is a tried and true tool and finishes better.
The Griots Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher has a lifetime warranty and more horsepower.

    Again, IMHO
Griots does a better job of removing swirls. I can apply more pressure and it does not bog down.
The PC does a better job of finishing w/Megs 205 or Menz 106/PO85RD and jeweling the paint.

A week ago I would have said the Griots is better due to the extra HP using KBM for removing swirls.
With the new DA Microfiber Correction System either one can make easy work of removing swirls.
MEGS recommends using the W67DA backing plate with the Microfiber discs. Runs cooler w/MF pad.

    Conclusion:
They are both good DA polishers.
Get the Megs DA 5" backing plate W67DA to use w/the DA MF.
    A six pack of 5.5" LC flat pads 2orange, 2white, 1black & 1blue
NOTE: The Orange LC pad is my workhorse.

Do you have swirls and need paint correction?
Then get the Megs D300 & DA Microfiber cutting pads

I'd start with Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax.
You may not need UCompound after D300/MF but it's nice to have.

    UC = Orange pad
    UP = White pad
UW = Blue (or finer) pad

Option: to kick it up a notch you can use the LC black pad with Menz PO85rd between UP and UW.

Finally got it all clay bar'd and could get down to polishing, for my truck the only place I needed the Ultimate Compound was on the bed cover, the Ultimate Polish worked great everywhere else, I started with the hood and the compound and soom realized I didnt need that, the polish worked great, did have some scatches on the Snuglid that need it tho, still need to do the sides but thats easy, applied the Ultimate wax to the hood just to see how it works. A little go's a long way! It's easy to use and like most synth. waxes you have to patient, takes a while to haze then can be a little streaky at first but once it cures thats when it really shows you hard work.
    Great product!

    Great product!
A quick way to remove the streaking is to "very" lightly mist a MF towel and lightly wipe where you applied the UWax.
Very little means spray a mist in the air and wave the MF through it.
But yes, it is a synth and once it settles, levels and cures the streaks disappear.

Did you use Ultimate Wax liquid or paste?

I used the liquid. The steaking was the main reason I bought the detail spray, been there before, but I just let it settle a few hours and it went away.

    I like the liquid because:
It lasts just as long as the paste.
    It does not stain trim
It's easy and fast to apply with a DA

Review Megs Ultimate Wax Paste Update

Well I finally got around to trying out the Megs UW Paste.
I applied it with a PC and a 5 1/2" Lake Country flat blue pad.
Although it was suggested to use a 4" pad (it fits in the jar)
I wound up just rubbing the face of a 5" pad on the wax in the tin.

    Application:
I found it very fast and easy to apply (buttery application)
No effort on speed 3 and let it dry to a slight haze and used the swipe test.
I'm sure it would be just as easy to apply by hand (use very little on the pad)

    Removal
This was also on the very easy side I did some by hand and some using
a 6" wool pad on a 5" backing plate covered with a Cobra MF blue bonnet.
Although it was easy enough to wipe of by hand I like removing w/machine
You know the saying...Why do anything by hand that you can do by machine.
I personally think the "finish" is visually smoother when removing by machine.

    Conclusion:
The light streaking still exists with the paste as well and the liquid version.
As the product polymers cure this initial application streaking disappears.

    My Thoughts
I personally think the paste version may me a little bit shinier than the liquid.
The paste version was easy to use and remove. (like applying soft butter)
The finished results have a good look (not saran wrap like)
I would be confident suggesting and recommending this product.

6 months later, still shines good and beads like crazy! I will tell you mine isnt a daily driver and has seen very little rain, we havent had any all summer! But it does get a weekly wash and spritz with detail spray, I give it a thumbs up!
